The Year That Never Was...

MVPMODS.com Presents...

ytw5.jpg

Background Information:

Team:I will be using the New York Mets, I am a die hard Met fan and I always was addicted to Triple Play Gold Edition with the old rosters. Now playing with them on MVP should be fun even though there a horrible team coming off a 103 loss season in the \'93 season.

Gameplay:

Difficulty: All-Star

Fielding:Manual

Batting View: Six/One

Strikezone: Off

Hot/Cold Zones: Off

Pitch Cursor: Fade

Hitters Eye: Off

Rosters: Default 94 Roster in the Total Mod.

Last Note About Dynasty: I will be updating each game as we go with a pre and post game reports. Here and there could be a little article about something about the dynasty. With things around the league I will post a monthly update on what\'s going on. Who\'s Hot and Who\'s Not. And if something big comes up, I will post it if so. Anyway this is my first dynasty on MVPMODS, I did dynasties over Dynastymanager and this is idea is carrying over from DM due to I feel this will be easier to follow and a lot more creative ideas I plan on doing. Hopefully you guys will enjoy the concept of the dynasty and enjoy fully. Be free to comment on any things, always appreciated.

Expect Updates Tonight.

Great creativety and very much a welcomed dynasty & beyond in my opinion.

By the Way --- I think Hory is on the brink of releasing an enhanced version of his 1994 Masterpiece which you may wish to consider waiting for before undertaking this exciting endeavor !

Thanks,

Don

Who do you have in your bullpen? And out of curiousity, what are your goals?

Good luck with your dynasty.

Thanks guys for all the interest, really appreciated. The pre-game for game two should be up soon then the postgame recap. So expect that soon.

Haha yea a lot of memories, I remember Todd Hundley like no other especially with the 41 HRs in 96 although it didn't happen in this dynasty lol..oh well.

Ah the bullpen, of course we all know I got John Franco the new york native himself closing the games. But heres a list who else I got:

Mike Maddux

Roger Mason

Doug Linton

Josias Manzanillo

Mauro Gozzo

And of course I got Jason Isringhausen in AA ball although remember he was a starter for the Mets back in the day. I don't know what I'm going to do with him yet. Which brings me to my goals of the dynasty, my goals pretty much is to get atleast 60-80 wins because this team isn't the best team out there after all they did lose 103 games in 1993 heh. But if I get more than 60-80 wins I would like to compete to try making the wild card and see what happens there. It can happen because I do expect to build up this team as this year goes by, either with trade moves or bringing up people from the minors. I want to see what the team would best fit for the 94 Mets. If this all goes well, I do expect to keep this dynasty going over the 94 season but I don't want to get ahead of myself just yet.

And for around the league, I want to see what happens. That's why after each month, there will be an around the league update to see what's happening and what surprises might come up. See who's doing what, who got traded where or anything that sparks throughout the league.

A very nice start to your dynasty; at least presentation wise. Hope to see you bounce back from that heart breaking opening day loss.

Game Two: Mets at Cubs

post2.jpg

Comments: Another game blown, I tied it up in the 7th and then in the bottom of the inning Bobby Jones got rocked up. I should of pulled him quicker which was my fault. The boxscore got screwed up so next game I have it back up.

It seems like the Mets are facing all the pitchers that they later get ... Anthony Young, Pete Harnisch.

Hopefully, you'll get more wins than losses. But, if you win mostly every game, it would be unrealistic. Nice looking dynasty so far.

TY for the answers before. I never played a team with anything less than needing 2 WS wins in 3 years as a goal. That's hard to do. Good luck.

No Problem, ha yea there is a lot of pitchers and players that later became a Met but now I got the control of the general manager situation and I don't plan on making stupid moves as the Mets use to do..for example I don't think I be trading Jeff Kent anytime soon ;)

Game 4: Mets @ Astros

post4.jpg

Box Score

Notable Notes: John Franco was placed on the 15 Day DL due to fractured toe, he is expected to miss the entire month of April before return. Also what I found interested in last game is that Mike Hampton was Astros closer. Seems like due to early injuries, the Stros placed him as the closer. I thought it was pretty interesting closing out the ballgame but who knos thats me.

too bad about Franco ... maybe you can bring up Izzy to close games even though he was a starter ... rewrite history perhaps?

I guess Hampton went from a starter to a closer and straight out the door (today) in Mexico ... ouch!

Also, don't pick up Mo Vaughn ... ever! That was one of the worst pickups the Mets made ... of course after getting Mota. GL with next game.

haha yea no way for Vaughn..I don't even want to remember those days.. John Orelud, now that be a move I be willing to remake for a first baseman but Brogna doing alright for me right now. Hitting up right handers with ease.

But yea sucks about Franco, I was debating on bringing up Izzy but I found it to be too early to bring him up. If it was during somewhere near June, I would of probably done it. I want to see how he progress as a starter and you never kno..That's why I'm going to enjoy this dynasty, so many possibilities that you never expect can happen. The first example: Mike Hampton the Houston Astros closer haha..

Game 5: Mets @ Astros

post5uy1.jpg

Box Score

Notable Notes: I blew this game, had the 6-2 in the 8th, they scored 3. Then had 2 outs in the ninth and blew the game to tie it up and eventually they came back and won off a Jeff Bagwell homerun. Another heartbreaking lost for the Mets.

Notable Notes: Another lead went down the drain. Had 3-0 lead, blew it..then tied the game at 4 in the ninth to eventually lose the game 1 inning later. Heh these games are killers lol..anyway series wrap up coming soon.

Game 7: Cubs @ Mets

post7.jpg

Box Score

Notable Notes: Mets finally get out of a 3 game skid and win Home Opener . Bobby Jones threw a complete game shutout to seal the deal. Also there has been many forms of rumors heading in the general manager office so stay tuned.

With that said, I am willing to hear any suggestions on what to do with Bonilla. I want to get another Starting Pitcher or bullpen help. But who knows what can happen. You'll probably see him ship out within 2 weeks in dynasty time of course.
