Entirely possible that if you hadn't used a clean install, that Fenway Park was too big to function.  My Fenway is a very, very large park in terms of resources, so it might have overwhelmed the game if it was installed over a mod using 2x resolution images.

I can't remember if '88 comes with my new version of Fenway or not.

Search for rolie's zMod tutorial, and you can see what's possible.  #1 shouldn't be too difficult, #2 probably would be, #3 is rather tricky to do right, #4 not much of a problem,#5 is doable, and #6 is also possible.

Download a trial for paint shop pro and you'll have an image editing program.  And also search for pirate's oedit tutorial.
