Got it. Thanks for your help.

Jim, I reduced the free agents to around 96, and now it works. It is puzzling. BTW, where does the program match up the team names in the schedule.big? When I create a new dynasty (for my 1960 mod), it shows KCR for Kansas City, rather than KCA for the Athletics, of 1960. When I try and play a KC game on the schedule, it brings up the Royals. Any help?

I never play minor league games. I use the AAA only to bring up players to mlb. My free agents show 182/255. Total players are 3198. All within ranges, but I'll reduce the free agents anyway.

Thanks for your reply, Jim. Does that also include ALL the teams other than just mlb? The mlb all checked out ok, as did managers.

I am trying to start a new mod I created with MvpEdit. All portraits, faces, etc. are ok. I imported to the dat files with no errors. When I start Mvp2005, I selected Exhibition to check things out. I went through the selections fine (teams, pitchers, lineups, uniforms). After I selected the stadium (any stadium) and clicked ok to continue to the game, it crashed. I've tried this with other teams and get the same thing.
I've also copied an existing mod that works fine, as a test, and exported the dat files to that, along with the new models.big and portrait.big. Same thing happens when I try to start a game. I've checked all of the "crash" topics and can find nothing to help.
Within the game, I am able to see all the players in the rosters, lineups, etc., so the import appears to work ok. The test mod I imported to does work with original data before the import.
Anyone know what cause this crash? Would someone be willing to check my mbe file to see if there is an error there? I can send that with the models.big and portrait.big in a zip file.
Please ask any questions if more info is needed.

Using MvpEdit and Lahmen database, I imported and created a new mod. I added portraits, faces, etc., and did the usual things with the mbe file in MvpEdit. After I had finished the Global tweaks, I exported to the dat files. There were no errors. Export appeared to work fine. When I ran the game program and opened the Manage Rosters, all the teams had DEFAULT in the player names. Does anyone have any idea why this happened, and how I can fix this?

Jim, the formula works great. Many thanks for the help. I have acouple of other questions about the manger's ratings. Could I PM a message to you? Thanks. ...Dick

Thanks for the formula, Jim. I was close on some of the fields to use, but was way off on the formulas. I'll try these on my 57 mod, and see how everything tests out.
    Thanks again.

That would be great, Dylan. I'm sure others would be interested also. Thanks.

I'm trying to calculate the team manager's ratings (batting, pitching, fielding, base runnung) for the mvpedit. I have used Dylan's calculators for the players, but am now looking for a way to create the ratings for the managers. Which stats do any of you use, and how are they converted into a percentage for mvpedit? Any help?
I am working on a 1957 mod, by the way.

Thanks for the help. I will try uninstalling and deleting everything again. I'm sure you're right about something still there. I'll also try a clean install to another area and see if that might work.
    Again, thanks for the help.
  13. rbfoster added a post in a topic: Lost My Rosters

I have lost my original rosters somehow. Some names come up on the "Call up/Down" list, but a lot of them are D.DDEFAULT. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times now, but still the same thing. I was using mvpedit at the time the problem started (after an export). Other mods (67, 56,etc.) do not work either. Lots of D.DEFAULT names in the roster list.
The Dynasties I have though, are ok, but I couldn't create arother one. Are there hidden files that need to be deleted? I was able to load a previously saved roster, but any mods rosters are corrupt. Any help would be appreciated.
