But what worries me right now is what the devotees of Bin Laden are going to do to retaliate because their leader is gone. Those people are nuts. Oh yeah? Well best of luck to you. I was in the Navy myself. I had boot camp in San Diego and I did my entire hitch in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Best advice I can give you for boot camp is to say nothing except "yes sir" and "no sir." I learned that from watching other guys who didn't know how and when to keep quiet. This is as bad as Khadafi becoming Ghadafi. What's the ploy? The only channel I ever see doing this (including last night, as I flipped between all 3 major cable news channels, and only noticed the one) are the nut jobs at FOX. I know CNN, and MSNBC were spelling it correctly last night while I was watching. I didn't watch any of the network news coverage, so I am not sure about them. And as far as FOX news, they have always done it (at least that I recall, as I rarely watch them, but have seen it on there before). My biggest issue is that the internet is already blowing up with conspiracy theories about this being fake, and they are just doing it to get support for Obama come next years campaign. Some jack *** has posted a very fake picture of Bin Laden's death picture (already been confirmed as a photo shop job, and it was made out of a very famous shot of him from the late 90's, and poorly done). All the yahoos are jumping on this picture, and claiming it is proof that he isn't dead, and that the US is just trying to trick us into believing it. Whatever. My second biggest issue is all the morons who went out into the streets last night as started celebrating this. Watching it seemed eerily similar to how people all over the Muslim nations were out in the streets celebrating the fall of the twin towers. The only thing missing were people randomly shooting automatic rifles into the air in celebration. Don't get me wrong, I was ecstatic last night when I heard the news. Just the first thought I had when I saw people showing up outside the White House was how this looked far to similar to how they were celebrating in the streets after 911. I know I was pretty offended when I saw them do it back then. How many anti-American people all over the Arab nations are gonna look at this the same way? The big difference between now and when Al Queda celebrated is we celebrate the death of ONE man who brought suffering to Thousands of innocent lives across all nations. Any person in or outside the United States with even a shred of common sense or compassion knows the world is a much better off place with out him. Just because there are a few who "may" retaliate doesn't mean we should stop from celebrating this momentous victory for America and for freedom abroad. Watch what happens when the general population of Pakistan finds out there government was more then likely aiding in hiding Bin Laden. Dictatorships will be a thing of the past...just ask Egypt, Libya, Syria, and on and on. Ill bet within days or weeks protests and movements start up in Pakistan to overthrow it's opressive goverment. So terrorists or any other person who wants to do us harm should watch this and think twice. No more ***** footing around. We will find you! While he was stationed there, they lived in El Cajon and I remember my mother-in-law saying how much she enjoyed it there. Prior to San Diego, he was stationed at Pearl Harbor. In '64 they transferred to Alaska (Kodiak Island) and my wife's claim to fame (other than marrying me!) is that she lived through the 1964 Alaska earthquake. So I was there for part of your families stay there. I lived in PB(pacific Beach) part of those years and used to walk to the beach in the Summer. I get back there once in awhile-too crowded now. I'll tell you what though...if I did have family there I would have done everything that I could to keep them there instead of moving to the cold and snowy east coast. Especially Massachusetts. Actually, it was my wife's immediate family (parents, siblings) who lived there, and they all moved back to Massachusetts in 1966. My wife's extended family all live on the East Coast. My in-laws returned for a visit in the late 80's but my wife has never been back. Since they moved to Alaska before her 1st birthday, she has no recollection of San Diego.
