Roster Update Question

So I have recently updated to the MVP 13 conversion, and the game is incredible! I love being able to play again. The last install that I did was for the MVP 08 conversion.

With that being said, I've tried to update rosters, and I feel that I'm placing the .dat files in the correct place (folder where the game play is) but for some reason the rosters are not updating.

Is there anyone that could help me out with the updated roster and if I'm placing them in the correct folder - maybe I need to look to see where the game play is actually taking its information from but I don't know how to do that.

Thank you for the help.

I did put them in that particular folder under my program file x86/mvpbaseball2005/data/database but it still is not registering that move. I have old rosters that are in there.

Do you know if there is a file on there that I can put in my documents that I can just load when the game is already in use? I'd put it in the same folder where game play is saved.

If you edit your rosters using the in-game editor, it will create a .sav file which is stored in your My DocumentsMVP Baseball 2005 folder. You would then have to reload that file everytime you start the game if you want to use them. It's similar to the way you load a saved dynasty if you want to continue playing it.

The .dat roster files are only loaded if they are placed in the datadatabase folder and they are loaded when the game is started up. There is no way to specify a different place to load them from. If you did install the roster files to this folder, can you confirm that the file time and date stamps have changed to confirm that the copy was successful? If the time and date stamps did not change, then perhaps the copy failed because you didn't have administrator rights to update the folder.

The administrator rights would make sense......that does come up and I click accept......the date accepts (changes the date in the folder to look like the date from the zip file) but maybe the update doesn't take effect.

How would I go about making myself have administrator rights to update the folder....or isn't that possible?

Don't overwrite the files. Delete the 19 old .dat files and then unzip to that location Homer indicated.

Also, if you are expecting rosters to change in an existing season/dynasty, they won't.

I assume you're on Windows7. I'm not seeing where a folder speaks to administrator rights.

The other thing you can do, once you've done the above, is go into the game's roster management section and select "reset rosters".

Let us know what happened and what works. Too many new members around here are saying "I got it figured out !!!!!!!" and then don't say why it did.
