  19. Updated text file for DonSPa unis

This text file is only for those who have downloaded my unis. When i did unis i had to use uniform slots for the minor leagues until i finished all my unis, and this would crash the game for anyone who played minor league games.I used this file to put the unis in the unused slots and was able to
get them all but the yankees reverse negative because i ran out of empty slots. When i do a text file for the negro league unis ill add it to that

Just open any roster file with tys editor and import this text file.U should be able to play using my unis and also be able to play minor league games now

modded unis name a folder NATIONAL LEAGUE and place my unzipped uni files
inside this folder.Start the enabler and choose the folder that has the mods

then just shut down the enabler again these will not have the correct color codes

After 2 years of dissapointing attendance in Baltimore and the defection of John McGraw
to the national league the time was right to transfer the Orioles team to NY.
On April 8 1903 the NY Americansor Highlanders played thier first game at
Hilltop Park.Again they wore normal unis for this time of the era.White and Black
were the trim colors.White cap with black stripes down the seams, black stockings
and large black shirt collar.A large black N and Y on the right and left breast. The road
jersey was the reverse image. For 1904 the same design stayed but the color changed
from black to dark blue. For 1905 the NY was merged changed to a monogram on the left breast.
In 1909 new uniforms incorporated new features, red stripes on navy blue socks and
the now legendary Yankee monogram made its first appearance on the cap and
left sleeve.By this time the new nickname "Yankees" was now used as often as the "Highlanders"
and was only a few years away from become the official name.In 1911 another
significant feature appeared on the road uni as the city name appeared on the greys.
1912 was the last year to be played at Hilltop Park(which was the inspiration for the name"Highlanders"
By this time though the name yankees was was more or less the official name
and other feature was introduced ,yes u got "PINSTRIPES".A myth that had been the Yankees wer
the first to use pinstripes but is untru as a few teams had allready used them in MLB.
Another myth was owner Col Jacob Ruppert selected pinstripes to offset the huge
appearance of George Herman Ruth but when the first yankee wore pinstripes"the Babe"
was still in an orphanage and Babe didnt wear a Yankee uniform until 1920.1923 marked the
opening of Yankee stadium and nicknamed "the house that Ruth built".In 1927 the team was
considered to be the mightiest of all time. The road had capital"NEW YORK" with "YANKEES" as
the home uni. This uni lasted until 1930.But a year earlier the Yankees established a precedent
by being the first team to put numbers on the back of thier uniforms. This caught on
fast and became a standard for all teams by 1932.For all the years that Babe Ruth
played for the Yankees he never wore the uniform that u see today. The uniform u see now
became the permanent style in 1936,the year after Babe left the Yankees.
The year that things almost changed.
From 1936 to the current 2012 uniform the Yankees have never changed thier
uniform(not counting patches that were worn for special occasions)
BUUUUUT in 1974 that almost changed. Most fans are not aware that the
Yankees almost changed tradition of road greys in 1974.Former PR director
Marty Appel wrote a book in 2001 called"Now pitching for the Yankees"
and this is a following passage from that book
"In 1974 I walked into [then-general manager] Gabe Paul's office to find samples
of new Yankee road uniforms draped across his sofa. They were the opposite of
the home pinstripes -- they were navy blue with white pinstripes. The NY logo
was in white. Gabe liked them. I nearly fainted. ... I think my dramatic disdain
helped save the day and saved the Yankees from wearing those awful pajamas
    on the field."
In an interview Marty was asked what he had said to Gabe Paul
and Marty replyed: I said something like, "Oh my God, you're not seriously
considering this, are you? This would be a disaster!" Because, you know, the gray
"New York" jersey is iconic in its own right.
so NY fans were saved from this disaster and everyone was saved from having severe eye strain

the following files represent the 1905 and 1910 Highlanders and the 1974 unused Yankees. The files are the home away and cl1 iff's

The WhiteSox have the most rich source of uniforms out of any ML baseball team.
Thier long history of uniforms is very interesting.
Charles Comiskey transfered his "Western League St Paul"franchise to the hallowed
NL territory of Chicago for the 1900 season. The Chicago Nationals felt only mildly
threatened by the competition since the renamed "American League" was
still a minor league. The newcomers played thier games on the distant southside
of town.Comiskey agreed not to display the city name "Chicago" on his
uniforms but adopted the abandoned name "White Stockings" from the early
dynasty of the NL Chicagoeans. The invaders promptly won the AL pennant in 1900
and league president Ben Johnson boldly declared that the AL was now a major league
for the 1901 season.Comiskys first ML uniforms were standard white and grey
with a large square maroon "C" on the left breast and of course white stockings.
Since the west side team were strictly second division chicago fans started paying
more attention to the south siders. They repeated the same home uni but Comiskey
reneged on his word(it was all out war by now)he displayed the city name on his all dark blue
road unis. The league and the franchise were in the windy city to stay.
For 1903 some interesting changes were displayed as the white stockings became
a blue with a 4 inch wide white band.In June 1910 the White Sox played thier
last game at south side park and opened in thier new baseball palace Comiskey Park.
In 1912 the teams best known emblem design in teams history was first displayed
on the uniform. The large "S" encircling a small "O" and "X" was positioned on the left breast.
After a 2nd place finish in 1916 the Sox were once again a solid contender.By 1917
the home unis had standardized the team insignia and pinstripes.a small american flag
wasworn on the left sleeve to symbolize baseballs support for the war effort.The'17'
road uni took a bizzare reverse pinstripes with white stripes on solid blue fabric.
Sure enough they won the pennant and showed up to the "17" world series against
John McGraws Giants in a specially designed star spangled red white and blue variation
of thier home unis.Even the sacred tradition of all white socks was temporaily violated
with a red white and blue stripe. They came dressed for a cotume party and left with a world championship.
Those unis were retired from game use but came to symbolize the most glorious
moment in White Sox history. The Boston RedSox were Chicagos chief rivals for supremacy
in 1918 and reclaimed th AL championship. The WSox stumbled badly to under .500.
The 1918 unis added a feature the "Sox" emblem by adding small white sock silhouettes
inside the "S".This was the first time a pictorial symbol of the team nickname portrayed
    on game uniforms.
In 1919 the team s magic returned as they again met in the world series with the
Cincinnati Reds. The Sox lost but was under a cloud of suspicion and rumors
as a rsult in the infamous "Black Sox" scandal and the WSox dynasty was dismantled
    by cimmisioner Landis.
In the 1930s decade it spelled double depression for the WSox as economic hard times
and the team continued its seemingly permanent residence to the basement
of the AL ladder.A few stars like Luke Appling and Ted lyons helped brighten the gloom somewhat
1932 introduced a new look for the Sox in fact they had 2 versions. The primary
design featured the arrangement of the "SOX" intertwined diagonally with a baseball
and bat worked into the design. The letters were red with a blue outline and the bat was yellow.
This uniform stayed for the next 4 years and was featured in the first "All Star" game
at comiskey park in 1933.The Allstar game was initiated by Arch Ward who was a
sports editor for the "Chicago Tribune".It was to coincide with the citys century of progress
exposition.Ward had the novel idea of a single game made up of the games most
exciting group of baseball players ever assembled. And by the 1930's baseball was
by now established as "Americas favorite pastime" and the exposition was a perfect
time to provide the "perfect"stage to introduce baseballs best to the rest of the country.
Many didnt even believe that a contest of this magnitude would even live up
to the fans expectations, especially to those who in the far west states had never seen a
    major league baseball game.
In 1933 and 1934 the teams were selected by managers and fans. The NL manager was
chosen was John McGraw and the AL manager was Connie Mack. They led players
such as Lou Gehrig,Jimmie Foxx,Al simmons and the one and only Babe Ruth.
"We wanted to see Babe" said Bill Hallahan the NL starter."Sure hes old and a big waistline
but that doesnt make a difference,we were on the same field as Babe Ruth"
With fellow allstar Charlie Gehringer on first in the bottom of the 3rd,the Babe
drove one into the right feild stands, the first homer in all star history. The crowd
according to one account"roared in acclamation" and the first allstar was won
by the AL on the strength of Ruths homer and so the All star game was anresounding success.
And the attendance of the game was 49,200 people to prove that this special moment
in "Americas game" that expectations would be met.
The Sox went thru so many different uniform styles thru the years, from pinstripes, reds
blues, black, zippers ,button ups etc.Probally the most confusing time of Sox unis
is during the 1969 season. The sox were going with the traditional grey but with blue pinstriping,
and white lettering and numbers. It was approved but with the advent of colored TV
and major league braodcasts were in "technicolor"the blue on grey did not show up well.
Most uniform books and sites show the grey but on the baseball cards and some pics they show the powder blue
style thats the white sox decided to go with, royal blue lettering and numbers were used and so these showed up
much better. In 1976 Bill Veeck who was an inovater of so many bizzare ideas ,gave an idea which just for
some reason never caught on.He decided one day and said "hey why dont we wear shorts"
Not sure why it didnt catch on but my guess is the players just was not thrilled
with the turf burns from the sliding effect or what.I think this idea lasted maybe 1 or 2 games.
These unis they wore for the 6 years(shorts not included though)They had 4
different unis during this run.2 home versions and 2 road versions,
The home ones were all white for 1 with dark navy"Chicago",navy cap with a white"sox"
navy stripe down the leg and navy undershirt,But for my uniform files i had to go with
undershirts to see the v neck style on the jerseys. They also had huge navy collars. The alt white
the only difference is they used navy blue pants. The road jerseys were the opposite.
All navy uni with white lettering n numbers, only the all navy road had a white cap and navy bill.
The other road uni had all navy cap and white pants

In 1960 the American league awarded 2 cities as expansion teams. One was Los Angeles
and the other would be in the Twin Cities(Minneapolis and St Paul),but instead of
just expansion the Washington Senators packed thier bags on moved to Minnesota.
This left a void in the expansion and so they awarded Washington the expansion
and for the 1961 The Minnesota Twins,La Angels and Washington Senators would all
be ML franchises. But long before the expansions the original Washington team
became a ML team in 1901.Like other teams the unis were the normal style for that time of
of the era.All trim was black including stockings.2 wide black bands on the pillbox type hat.
"Washington"spelled out on the jerseys.Wanting to disassociate with the defunct
NL Senators of the 1890's the club officially declared themselves as the "Nationals"
for the 1905 season. In 1906 they decided to change thier look for the road jerseys
and changed from the normal grey to black with white trimmings and an old english "W"
on the pocket. The new Nationals fared no better than the teams before them as they stayed
buried at the bottom for the entire decade..As often seems the case with a losing club
uniforms always continued to change every year.As an effort to escape the voodoo of
being a loser the 1907 club restored the capital "W" at home and "Washington"on dark blue
road uniforms.1908 it was back to "Washington" for home then 1909 back to the "W" then 1910
the "W" was used for both home and away.Things looked up for the Nats in 1910 and 1911
as the great Walter Johnson 25 games in both seasons.1912 the team started into the pinstripe
years and began to be contenders. In fact they would win 2 pennants in 1924 and 25 and the
world series in 1924.The pinstripes would last until the 1926 season.
The new uniforms were just plain white and greys with a touch of color on the collar
and sleeve ends. They would also wear a patriotic shield on the left sleeve.Stockings
would be white with 1 red and 1 blue stripe. The cap would be white with red bill and a dark blue"W".
Walter johnson retired after the 1927 season and the team began a couple decades of hardships
and losing seasons, with the exception in 1930.For 25 years they were known for
mostly losing seasons. They were so bad that SF chronicle writer charley Dryden joked,
"Washington:first in war, first in peace and last in the American league"They did contend in 1943
    and 1945
Owner Clark Griffith dies in 1955 and adopted son Calvin took over the team.In 1956 after
after 50 years of being known as the "Nationals" they finally renamed themselves the "Senators"
Even with the name change it did nothing for the team as they still finished in 7th place
and in the next 3 years they narrowly kept from losing 100 games(99-91-93 concestutivly)
Calvin sold Griffith stadiumto the city of Washington leading to speculation that he was planning on moving.
With prospective moves one was San Francisco and the other Minn-St Paul in which a deal
    was finally reached in 1960.
1961 for the first time an entire state would be used to identify a new team
as the team from Minn-St Paul would be named the Minnesota Twins.
Scarlett and navy blue would be the team colors. This was a carry over from the
1960 senators uniforms.Home whites were pinstriped with Twins as a slanted script
and a special patch on the left sleeve which portrayed 2 players shaking
hands across the river which was a symbol of the twins cities alligiance.
A navy blue cap displayed interlocking white"T" and red "C".They avoided an "M" for
fear that it would be suggested they were a Minneapolis team only.
The stocking and undershirts were solid blue. This uniform stayed set for the next 10 years
and during the 60's in this uni the twins were contenders with a pennant in 1965 and
a close 2nd in 1967.This time also produced players like Harmon Killebrew
and Tony Oliva.A few changes came thru the following years including the popular 70's
double knits and the twins stayed in the middle of things thru the 70's with
a new hitting phenom by the name of Rod Carew.
In 1987 with the franchise finally a solidfied established statewide team and no longer a fear
to offend St Paul fans the team changed from the "T""C" to "M" and finally
the Twins won thier first championship.

the included files represent the 1917 nationals and the 1956 senators and they are the

  24. '94 Tigers Aways, and the inspiring story of 2kSports color manager Ben Hornbrauer

    It was 1994.

This was the year that Weezer's famous "Navy" album came out:

Nick Nolte and Shaq starred in the classic film "Navy Chips," not to be confused with "Navy Sky" with Tommy Lee Jones, which also came out that year. The Duke Navy Devils, led by senior Grant Hill, made it all the way to the National Championship game and lost, which by Duke logic means the season isn't worth talking about. It was the year that the Toronto Navy Jays dynasty aged, though with young rookies Carlos Delgado and Alex Gonzalez (THAT Alex Gonzalez) promising a bright future. The Law & Order episode "Navy Bamboo" caused a minor international crisis between Japan and the United States.

1994 was also the most embarrassing year ever for the ol' Red, White, and Navy Olympic Figure Skating team when Tonya Harding attacked Nancy Kerrigan in Detroit. Kerrigan, in her trademark navy shirt pictured above, vowed she wouldn't sit around being navy and slowly worked her way back to the ice.

Also injured in that accident was a young Ben Hornbrauer, then wardrobe manager for the Olympic team, whose eyes were struck by the hammer. The incident made it impossible for Hornbrauer to differentiate between different different color shades -- his entire world no longer had any contrast. Even simple things like telling the difference between a navybird and a cardinal were impossible.

Hornbrauer's remarkable road to recovery took 12 years. The battle to regain his color differentiation was a long and painful process. Most doctors said it would be impossible, but finally he found one person, not a doctor per se, more like a "member of the cast of Real World," who put Hornbrauer on a strict regimen involving 9 straight years of doing nothing but bashing his forehead against various hard objects until the colors righted themselves. Now the Director of Color Programming for 2K Sports, when Detroit pitcher Justin Verlander was selected to be cover athlete for MLB 2k12, Hornbrauer achieved his comeback, returning to the very place of the incident and selecting the absolute most perfect pantone Navy for the Detroit Tigers' uniforms. Here's Hornbrauer's work:

As you can see Hornbrauer's navy is DISTINCTLY different from the color "navy" like in shoes and navy cake, and batman's costume.

In his speech at the unveiling of MLB 2k12, Hornbrauer thanked 2K Sports for giving him the opportunity to prove he is once again among able to discern the difference between the Navy of the Navy Jays or the Kansas City Navies, and the totally different shade worn by the New York Yankees or Detroit Tigers. He also mentioned he doesn't know who swapped the white and orange parts of the player name lettering but that clearly some ___hole in his department was going to be fired for it.

In honor of Hornbrauer's remarkable journey, I present to you the uniforms the Detroit Tigers wore in 1994. Unfortunately I couldn't get Ben himself to provide the colors for this, so these unis use a non-Ben-selected shade of Navy.

I put in two versions of this, one for Mod Enabler use so you can try to use it with MLB Today modes or if you don't have Ty Wiggins's editor. This is as much as I can do about Hornbrauer's Navy:

If you do use Ty's editor, it'll look thus:

There are 2 folders One for those that have Tys roster editor and one for those
that dont. There are 3 methods to installing.

    Tys Editor Instructions
U can install these into the main mlb 2k12 folder and they will not overwrite any file.
Open Tys editor and import the info from the text file included. These unis will have
    the correct color codes

    Normal Install instructions
WARNING BACK UP ORIGINAL FILES as these will overwrite the originals.Unzip into
the main mlb2k12 folder.Start game these will NOT have the correct color codes because
of the way 2k does their files

Generic Mod Enabler(use the files in the normal install)
This is the best way for those who dont have tys editor and dont want to over write the originals.
    Download from http://www.users.on.net/~jscones/software/products-jsgme.html
and follow thier directions.Once installed there should be a folder called *MODS*
Inside this folder u can create another folder. For example if u just want national league
modded unis name a folder NATIONAL LEAGUE and place my unzipped uni files
inside this folder.Start the enabler and choose the folder that has the mods
then start the game and the unis should be available. If u want to revert back to the originals
then just shut down the enabler again these will not have the correct color codes

Although Detroit was and established member of Ban Johnsons "Western League"
during the 1890's,its status as a major league was in jeopardy when the league
went "major" in 1901.Mediocre attendance fueled rumors that the team was going
to Pittsburgh or another credible major league team. The Tigers stayed in Detroit
and wove a long and rich baseball tradition. They have been the "Tigers"as far back
as thier minor league days a name inspired by yellow and black stocking stripes.
Thier first uniform as a major league team in 1901declared their feline identity by
using a red tiger on the front of thier cap.The black stockings alos had a red stripe.
The rest of the uni was standard stuff, fold down collar, button up shirt and the name
"Detroit"in arched block letters. The road was the same style except that maroon
was the trim color instead of black. In 1904 the Tigers uni was significate year in Tiger
uni history as the reverted back to thier old english"D" from 1890 and makes it the
oldest emblem in the major leagues thats still in use today(Unless the Athetics ressurect
their A) also was the first year that Ty Cobb would use his services for the Tigers as thier
    full time center fielder.
After 14 years as manager Hugh Jennings was replaced as manager by hero
Ty Cobb for the 1921 season. The newspapers even named the team the "TYGERS"
in honor of the new leader. He lasted thru 1926 when he resigned to finish out
his great career with the Philadelphia Athletics.
In stride with the trend for more colorful uniforms the Detroit team donned the most
imaginative uniform in team history. In place of the traditional D on the shirt they
displayed a orange and black tiger head and also a large tiger head on the back.
2 Orange stripes were added to the stockings and an orange D on the cap.

The files included are for the 1927 home and away and the 1995 alternate which was only used for 1 or 2 games. The files are the cl1 cl2 and home iff's
