speels Posted July 2, 2004 Share Posted July 2, 2004 I was in the bottom of the 8th. Bases loaded and 1 out. Score tied 2-2. I was the Reds playing against the Phillies. My pitcher intentionally walked Rollins to load the bases. The next batter up hits a ground ball to Larkin at short. As Larkin is about to make the play when al of a sudden the runner from 2nd base hammers Larkin and moves him out of the way of the play. The ball goes to the outfield and a run scores. I figure that sucks, but I got Casey, Griffey, and Kearns up in the top of the 9th. No prob.......til the next pitch when my pitcher decides to groove one for Thome. And as in real life..........BOOM......Grand Salami!!!!! That for sure double play that was broken uo by a missed call leads to the demise of my Reds.
