stcardinal
I was using Wright from SF and I managed to get a no hitter up till the bottom of the 8th. After striking out the last batter he suffers a chest injury and leaves the game. I bring in my closer to finish it off in the 9th and he shuts them out. So I was just wondering, does this count as a no hitter or does the starting pitcher have to finish it off himself for it to count as a no hitter? Tomackze
well its a "personal" no hitter but not a real no hitter because he didn't get 27 outs Link to comment https://www.mvpmods.com/forums/topic/21384-almost-a-no-hitter-or-can-i-count-this-as-a-no-hitter/#findComment-262010 Share on other sites

hsa613
It's condidered a no-hitter for the team. The player gets regognized by being part of a "combined" no-hitter. A couple of years ago the Astros no-hit the yankees and used 6 pitchers. The Braves did it as well about 10 years ago with a couple of pitchers. As far as you playing the game you accomplished a no-hitter. Congrats. JoeyMcM93
Man that sucks. You have a no-no and he goes down injured? Wow, your game hates you. avngres220 is right, it's a combined no-hitter if Benitez gave up no hits. stcardinal
Ya, my closer didn't give up a hit in the 9th. Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess it was a "combined" no hitter. Ya, it really sucks how he went down with an injury (14 days) after striking out the last guy in the 8th. This was the first time I even got this close to a no hitter too.
