screen resolution problems

MVP baseball crashes right before the game starts, i get it all loaded up, then right before the first inning starts, the game crashes. I worked just fine before I plugged in this screen.

Is there anything that can be done so it will work with the new screen?

the full screen settings, I can do 1600 x 1000 , 1600 x 1024 or 1680 x 1050

but the game doesnt want it to be bigger then 1280 x 1024.

is there a way to open the game in a window, so that I can stretch the size, to a square in stead of a big rectangle?
