In 1971, the team would be starting to come together that would go on to win the 1976-78 AL West and a few would be left that would be in the 1980 WS like Amos Otis. Speaking of Otis, he was the stolen base leader for the AL in 1971. Cookie Rojas and Amos Otis were also reserves during the 1971 All-Star Game in Detroit. I know Rojas was playing 2nd when BRobby caught the pop up for the last out. I'm not sure if Otis was still in at the end of the game. Dick Drago was the anchorman in the starting rotation during the season and a young Paul Splittorff was also a starter.
