This uniform design was used through the 60's including the 1968 World Series with the rear names being added in 1970. The number font being used on the road jerseys was a block with serifs. I got all my info from Bill Henderson's program "Game Worn MLB Jersey Guide". Mickey Lolich and Joe Coleman were in the top 3 in strikeouts flanking Vida Blue of the A's. Lolich also led the AL in wins with 25 followed by Blue with 24 and Wilbur Wood with 22. The Tigers couldn't catch the Orioles in 1971 who had another 100+ win season. This team would come in 1st in 1972 when the Orioles were weakened with the loss of Frank Robinson to the Dodgers.
