I have been using is to see what my depth is like at each position throughout my organization, but what is the ranking list on the left for? RedSoxFox7 Posted March 8, 2005 Share Posted March 8, 2005 I believe it's for a couple things involving the CPU. For one, the CPU will optimize your rosters differently depending on the rankings. For two, I've noticed A LOT more injuries when I do'nt have the Positional Rankings set up. It seems like if the PR isn't set up, the CPU doesn't know who to sub in when someone is getting tired. This is just from messing around simming games to try stuff out. I might be wrong about the second part, it could just be a coincidence. But I do know that the CPU Optimize roster works differently. I put myself in the game as a 5 star prospect with low batting skills, but will very good fielding, baserunning, etc. As I was when I played, I was primarily a catcher, but I could play anywhere if I needed to (Primary: C, Secondary: UTIL). When I did CPU Optimize without setting up the PR, the CPU made me the 2B for my AA team. After I did PR and made myself the 5th catcher in line (behind 2MLB and 2AAA catchers), I redid the CPU Optimize and I was still in the same place in the lineup, but I was now the starting catcher instead of 2B.
