Filling in stats in MVPEdit

I was just wondering what affect filling in the career stats for each player in MVP Edit is... does it calculate any player attributes for you? Affect progression?

It does NOT adjust any ratings. I am not sure what progression is based on. However, I think progression is based on ratings and the Top Prospect flag thus no effect there either.

So is there really any reason to fill in the year by year stats?

Only so the game can display them. There is evidently, although I have only looked at it once I think, a place where you can display a players complete historical stats. I believe it is an option when you are viewing Rosters in the Roster Management area. I believe Robert Glass's newest version of MVPEdit imports the history of each players stats from the Lahman Data Base when you import a team and can also selectively do it on an individual player basis as well. I am not to clear on that since I am not yet on his newest version of MVPEdit but have read a good bit about it in these forums.

I put in all of the stats in for every minor leaguer in the game. I had played a couple of months in dynasty mode when I noticed Adam Pettyjohn of all people Had an 0.54 ERA. I re-opened mvpedit and foud that i miss entered an earned run total. So in short, it does effect their attruibutes, but not in a way you'd expect. instead of adding to a player's stamina it changes a player's efffectiveness
