Longest game ever

Recommended Posts

Played a 15 inning affair against the Sox and lost. One hell of a game, wish they could all be like it. Was down 2-0, came back and lead 3-2 going into the bottom of the ninth. Blew the save, and went into the longest extra inning game I've played yet (yeah, I know it's not 27 innings :p ), and lost on a solo shot.

I played 17 Innings with the D-Backs against the Padres: I won the game 3-2. Jose Valverde doubled in the go-ahead run with 2 Outs in the Top of the 17th and then struck out the side to close out his 3 Inning Relief-Appearance. That was amazing... 8)

My longest game so far with MVP2005 has been a 16 inning affair between my Marlins and the Washington Nationals. It was a game that didn't have to go into extras as the Marlins were leading 5-3 in the top of the 9th and I brought in Guillermo Mota to close it. Unfortunately, Vinny Castilla belted a Mota splitter into the RF stands and we were dragged into extras. Lenny Harris ended the game with a single that scored Matt Treanor. Good thing, too, because I had exhausted the bench and the bullpen was pretty shot too!

What made the game more painful for me was that I actually finished the game at about 1:45 a.m. and was physically exhausted at the end.

my longest was a 16 inning loss to the phillies - me playing as the nationals. bottom 16, burrell leads off and i get him down 0-2. he then proceeds to foul off 5 straight pitches, 2 of which went 400ft foul. 8th pitch of the at-bat with an 0-2 count, sinker down and away hit 415ft into left center field, game over, 1-0 phillies. not official but i'd estimate i left no fewer than 20 runners on base and grounded into at least 6 double plays...

next day i beat them 7-0...damn baseball and it's capricious ways

I was playing the Palm Beach Cardinals vs some other A team, and the game got to about the 15th or 16th inning with the score still 3-3. I had to go to school, so I went into manager mode at this point. The freaking game lasted 27 innings total!!! My cardinals lost. It was sad, really.

well by god...just had another 16 inning game but won this time!

royals v angels. tied 2-2 after nine...the angels threatened a couple times but couldn't capitalize. in the top of the 15th I (the royals) had runners on 1 and 3rd with 2 outs and got a hanging slider to sweeney - "hellz yeah" i'm thinking as i angle up and in ready to hit the ball all the way back to kansas city - but alas, i swung too soon and popped it to shallow LF. wewt. now i'm thinking this games over, i lose

top 16th angel berroa lead off with a chopper off the plate and reached first without a throw - then stole second. runner on second, 0 outs. ruben gotay popped to vlad in RF, 1 out. then john buck came up and hit a 1-1 double into the RF corner, scoring berroa...3-2 royals.

bottom 16th figgins lead off with a single to RF. erstad then flew out to RF. 1 out. then i walked vlad to pitch to finley (vlad was 2-5 w/double and 2 rbi's; finley 0-5). first and second, 1 out. i then proceed to walk finley on 5 pitches, loading the bases with 1 out. oh great. but finally, after 5 pitches to garrett anderson, he grounded to short, berroa with a backhand flip to gotay at second, then to sweeney at first to get anderson by a step. game over, 3-2 royals.
