MyLittlePony Posted June 15, 2005 Author Share Posted June 15, 2005 Trade Update Angles Get RP Matt Herges The Angles today addressed there bullpen need with the trade for 6 year veteran pitcher Matt Herges. Herges is a career 30-26 with 34 career saves. Newly appointed GM Roy Williams said that Herges will be the setup man. To get Herges the Angles gave up 26 year old Matt Hensley. MyLittlePony Posted June 15, 2005 Author Share Posted June 15, 2005 The Angles beat rivals the Texas Rangers 8-3 Colon started and went 6 2/3 strong giving up 3. Dallas McPherson hit two home runs for 4 RBIs. Matt Herges relieved Colon in 7 and pitched two score less innings for the win. Darrin Estrad hit a 2 RBI single and a triple. Steve Finley hit a solo shot to tie the game, and K rod came on in the ninth to shut down the Rangers. McPherson said it was just one of those days where everything was clicking and said it was a sign for things to come for the Angles. MyLittlePony Posted June 15, 2005 Author Share Posted June 15, 2005 Trade Update Angles Get C Yadier Molina In awkward trade today the Angles sent Jose Molina packing to the Cardinals for a different Molina. The 22 year old Yadier Molina will be the back up catcher for Bengie Molina. Yadier has only appear 106 games in his young career. GM Roy Williams said they Angles have no plans of him ever being the starting catcher with Josh Paul and top catching prospect Jeff Mathis in Triple A.
