what is the datafile? what is it responsible for ? id like to know so i can decide whether to install a mod (i.e. "KSM datafile v3")

thanks guys. that is what i thought but wasnt sure. the one i looked at was not so descriptive and i think it needed a korean language addon. ill have to look at them because i dont remember the readme detailing whats different.
