A-Rod Gets his first homer of the year

NewYork-From the bottom of the first till the top of the 9th the Yankees dominated. They were smashing the ball left and right. Miguel Cairo in his first game as a Yankee he was awesome. He was 3-5 and had a homer in his first at bat. The Devil Rays pitching staff was asleep so was their offense. The Yankees manhandeled them. It was a point where the yanks scored more than 3 runs with 2 outs in one inning. Orlando Hernandez pitched pretty good tonight by shutting out the D-Rays offense. The yanks look to keep this offensive surge going by completing a sweep of the Devil Rays to Start off the season.

Aubrey Huff doubles in a run

NewYork-The game started off as if no one was going to score a run but then it happened. Suprisingly the D-rays erupted. They had a 2-run 4th and a 2-run 5th. The Bats of New York was silenced. This is the first time in years the yanks were shutout by the D-Rays. Mark Hendrickson was unhittable. His curveball was just confusing everyone as the Yankees couldn't even get a run. Jose Contreras was just not good today. He was giving up hits left and right. He couldn't really get anyone out. The yankees hope they can get thier offense working tommorow as they start a series with the talented Orioles.

A-Rod Shows D as he Makes a Nice diving Catch

NewYork-The Yankees played well all game mainly because of their pitching. Jon Lieber was simply fantastic tonight. He pitched 8 full innings with 8 strikeouts. The Baltimore Offense just couldn't figure him out. Hideki Matsui hit 2 monster homeruns tonight to give a total of 5 so far in the season. He leads the League and the team. Bruce Chen couldn't really control the yankees offense. He pitched 7.2 innings with just one strikeout. The Yanks tommorow look to go for the sweep. Last time the Yanks had a chance to sweep they blew it. It's back to the top of the Rotation as Kevin Brown will get the start for Newyork.
