Pitcher's Slot

2nd SP: Tomko

3rd SP: Schmidt

4th SP: Williams

5th SP: Lowry

If I were a Giants fan that's how I would structure my line-up when playing with MVP Baseball 2004. Who says a batting order can't follow a systematic order.

Hey this post is for dennis_is_theman:

Did you use the fantasy draft feature in MVP Baseball to assemble that team, or did you manually pick those players to be on your team?

Nevermind, you probably already played the 2004 season and during that time made trades or did some other types of transactions to get you to that lineup for 2005. Or, I could be wrong on all accounts.

I traded C Javy Lopez and CF Eric Young in the middle of the season for CF Darin Erstad, because Javy Lopez was batting .188 and not improving. Robert Fick started the beginning of the season as backup catcher and was Greg Maddux' personal catcher. He moved up to starting catcher, and I brought up Todd Hundley. Just thought I would bring up that fact, because people would think I am crazy for trading Lopez for Erstad!

i follow it a lot too, but the actual game. the only thing i remember from my mvp game is the fact that i didn't win the MVP with one of my players hitting .358, 78 homers, 208 RBI's, that's it. i remember it because i was pissed for a week when it happened cause i didn't understand how that was possible.

I follow baseball a lot too...

how about those Astros? under .500 at the break won the NL Wild Card. I seriously thought Cubs or Padres would have made it. They really surprised me. Also, Oakland with their awesome rotation got overtaken by Anaheim in the last week! They led the West for a good chunk of the year.

Postseason 2004 is going to one to remember.

Lets see.. my laptop has been dead for a few weeks so I haven't played my dynasty since then, lets see if I can remember my team. I'll try.

Anaheim Angels(DayPark-PoloGrounds NightPark- Crosley Field)

RF- Ichiro

CF- Ty Cobb

SS- Honus Wagner

C- Victor Martinez

2B- Rickie Weeks

LF- Corey Patterson

3B- B.J. Upton

1B- Justin Morneau

Pitcher(I hate the DH, refuse to use it even in AL)

Bench players: Chone Figgins, Rickey Henderson, Bengie Molina, and then a corner infielder with power and another middle infielder. I can't remember who they were, though. If it wasnt' for Football season I know I'd still remember, but with 5 fantasy teams and 2 dynasties in nfl2k5 to keep track of, I just can't remember.

SP- Christy Mathewson

SP- Walter Johnson

SP- C.C. Sabathia

SP- Scott Kazmir

SP- Zack Greinke

LRP- Hoyt Wilhelm

SRP- Myself(Lefty, 100 mph fastball, good screwball and knuckle curve. Horrible control, though. Its a challenge to pitch an inning with myself. hehe)

SRP- Eddie Guardado

SRP- Ryan Wagner

SRP- Jessie Crain

SU- Francisco Rodriguez

CP- Eric Gagne

Pretty fun team. Used with Roddata 7, allstar difficulty, jpups v2.5 roster base(mainly for Geforce's work with young guys and ratings). I basically copied Mathewson over from deadballfans 1905 Giants. I also of course created myself. All the guys I got I traded for, but it was pretty easy with all the trade bait the Angels have. My minor leagues are chock full of prospects as well, so I can have a lot of fun with AA and AAA games. I think my team was in first place in June by 10 games or so, the team is a little unbalanced, especially once I figured out how to hit with Ichiro(his swing is different than everyone elses). My teams stats are around normal for most teams except in two categories. I'm a bit below average in homers(only Martinez is up there, and he's in first) and have like 8 of the top 10 in SBs cause I like to run a lot. I even pulled off a double steal of 2nd and home once with Ichiro and Cobb. That was fun. :D

If you can't tell I follow baseball closely. I'm also more interested in old time baseball than current baseball because homeruns tend to bore me now. All of it has happened in the last year or so. A couple years ago my favorite player was Sammy Sosa(well, it was since he was with the Rangers) but now my favorite player is George Sisler(being a Wolverine clinched my favorite player spot. :D)

Once I either get my laptop fixed or I get a new computer I'm gonna create a dynasty with all old time players. I'm gonna build the team from the games 2 old time teams and from the team packs that have been uploaded. I may have to create some of my own players though(I don't think Sisler or Hornsby have been uploaded, how sad) but I can't wait till I do it.

2006 Mariners, started with a fantasy draft (my payroll is numero uno  )

Tony Clark, 1B

Placido Polanco, 2B

Melvin Mora, 3B

Alex Berroa, SS

Hammock, C

Ichiro, RF

Cory Patterson, CF

Platoon Reed Johnson/Adam Dunn, LF

David Ortiz, DH

Pitchers:

SP: Hudson, Washburn, Meche, B. Anderson, Soriano

RP: J. Julio, V. Durazo, A. Rhodes, F. Francisco, E. Gagne

Bench:

R. Vasqez, SS

H. Inoue, 2B

B. Buchanan, RF/DH

Davannon, UTIL

This has been a pretty productive lineup, and pitching staff. For some reason i can pitch very, very well with Hudson and Washburn on All-star, probably because i'm such a slider junky.

by far my most productive position is the platoon of Johnson/Dunn at LF. Dunn rips right handed pitching, and Johnson destroys left handed pitching. those two put up big solid insane combined numbers.

tony clark is definitely the surprise of my lineup for me, this is my second year having him on the team. for some reason, the CPU likes to throw him outside changeups from right handed pitchers, which he LOVES, i have no idea why the CPU continues to do it. it's absurd.

for some reason, i have a lot of trouble hitting with Ichiro in this game. the pitches thrown to him are insane, i still don't get it. i just try and try. i've really been watching it lately and the CPU throws insanenly perfect wicked pitches to him, then throws candyfloaters to my big hitters. i don't get it.

I see a lot of you guys like to keep your rosters accurate and up to date, not me. I just like to hit homers, more fun for me. My roster is a little unfair, but i did it with fair trades on and budget on.

CF - Ichiro

SS- Derek Jeter

2B - Created Player

3B - Alex Rodriguez

LF - Vlad Guerrero

1B - Alex Pujols

RF - Gary Sheffield

C - Ivan Rodriguez

DH - Alfonso Soriano

SP - Randy Johnson

SP - Mike Mussina

SP - Roger Clemens

SP - Roy Halladay

SP - Tim Hudson

RP - Mariano Rivera

RP - Eric Gagne

RP - Chad Bradford

Most games are a blowout, obviously, even on mvp. But sometimes it's close, more now since last season i played all-star.
