Accurate Stats For Elvis Andrus?

I'm playing with the 08 conversion and with 09 rosters...but the pack I have has Elvis Andrus with some pretty horrible stats (his power numbers are under 30 and his contact stats are hardly half of what Ian Kinslers are). Clearly that stuff isn't right, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a more accurate stat line I could give the new Rangers starting SS.

It's kind of hard to give him anything accurate since he's a rookie and only has one MLB game under his belt. Check out his player page on MLB to see how they do breakdown for hitters vs left and right hand pitchers, etc. Right now there is nothing for this guy to have his accurate MLB stats.

Did I even have Andrus in Texas' lineup with my most recent roster? From what you described, I don't think so.

I've since added him to the MLB team and increased his hitting stats as a result. It'll all be updated with my next roster update.

Well, I'm assuming it was your roster update I got...not sure to be honest. I was linked to it from another site. On it, I had to call him up and whatnot. But at least I got to send Omar down, which was satisfying in its own right.

Do you happen to know what the stats you gave him were (even ballpark features) so I can update them now...I'm on kind of a kick <_<

I put his contact ratings in the 60s and 70s, and power in the mid 30s. Too tough to tell what he might do this season. Even those numbers might be a little high in the grand scheme of things - I really doubt he's ready to contribute anything offensively this year.

Great, that's basically what I had in mind. His power numbers are most difficult to judge, as he's proven that he can hit for average in the past...but no one really knows what he'll do in terms of really cranking the ball. He's gotten more power in his swing working out and preparing for the starting job, but you never know if that'll carry over.

I just didn't want to overshoot them too much since I'm a Rangers fan and I could see myself seriously over-ranking him out of my pure bias (and hopes for the future)

Thanks man, :)

If you want to update Elvis Andrus or any other player ratings and you already started a franchise i suggest you to download MVP Editor by tywiggins (http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=3607) and Dylan Bradbury Batter Rating Calculator (http://www.mvpmods.com/index.php?autocom=downloads&showfile=4083) and calculate curent ratings based on this program and later with MVP Editor add it to your franchise(to do this you have to open the game and your dynasty or franchise, anyway here are elvis minor stats (http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=andrus001elv)

Thanks for the shout-out!

Well lets see, based on nothing so far, he's a low-power guy and a medium-contact guy. He's a righty, so he'll hit lefties better than righties, and he's a great glove man. Just make your own ratings based on that.....there is no "right" answer.
