Freezing cause?

I'm noticing there are various rosters, franchises that can all cause all kinds of freezing and crashing. Does anyone happen to know exactly what it is that causes problems with rosters in 2K12? Is it numbers of players on the starting lineup, is it too many created players, is it modified portraits? I'm trying to pick a roster to play with and there are always issues and people who upload the rosters and franchises don't follow up enough to address these issues. Just wondering if someone has figured out what exactly causes problems.
