Installed 2005 Total Conversion Mod and love it! But how do I fix the bat colors?

I have never modded MVP baseball or even played on PC before but I got a copy to try out the features of the 2005 season total conversion mod and am very impressed! However, I noticed I can no longer change bat colors in "edit player" and all the players have the exact same bat color. If I cycle through the options of bat colors in "edit player" within game, the color doesn't change on any of the options.

 

Is there a way I can fix this so I can select bat colors on an individual basis?

Hi. I got it from myabandonware. And I have to use the nocd exe from there as well because it won't recongize either disc as "correct CD-Rom". 

 

I am running it on Windows 7 fyi.

Windows 7? Very good system to run this game.

 

No CD?  I know it's used to protect the CD from damage.

 

Downloading a game where you did not pay for it? That is the problem here. You see on this website that is not allowed here. We have to respect the ownership of EA Sports even though the game is 21 years old. When you joined here the rules were presented to you and if you were like most people you probably glossed over them. They are however there.

 

What we can not do is offer support. Not because of you but how you got the game.

Understood. As a result I have deleted that game and installed from my official copy. Still having exact same problem.

I would like to assure you that I was not born yesterday. If you have a legitimate copy of the game you never would have gone to that site to download it.

 

I really understand that buying the game now can be pricey and it is all because of the mods here but an excuse like the one you just gave me is while understandable, is hard to accept at face value.

I actually have 3 copies of the game. PS2, Xbox and PC. Some of us are collectors you know. The reason I didn't install it from the disc to begin with is because my PC doesn't have a disc drive so I had to get out a USB blu ray drive to install it from the disc.

 

You realize some people just do things an easier way and that your very narrow view of how a person can live their life doesn't apply to everyone. I download things I own all the time. I am sorry the mere mention of a download makes you feel some kind of way but a gentle reminder and/or a simple declination to even ask the question to begin with would have avoided all this to from the getgo. I won't mention any downloads but I never would have to begin with if you hadn't asked.

 

I have since fixed my problem. I'll go back to enjoying my game you can go back to being rude to people who just joined for no reason.

You may not like the way the message was delivered, but nonetheless, everything that Yankee4Life said is valid.  For legal reasons, we cannot and will not provide support for illegal copies of the game.  As he pointed out, this is explicitly stated in the rules you agreed to when you signed up for this site.  Here is the statement:

 

Discussions and requests for illegal downloads (via admission or open discussion) or making them available to other posters is explicitly prohibited. This content includes (but is not limited to):

    1. CD Keys (MLB 2K or MVP Baseball or otherwise) & Serial Numbers
    2.1No-CD cracks
    3. Warez (Illegaly copied or cracked versions of the games)

You have to admit that when you said that you downloaded the game and then later said you installed your official copy, it did sound a bit incredulous.  This site has been around for 20+ years (and I've been here since its inception) with tens of thousands of registered users.  Over the years, we've had numerous members use various excuses to try to skirt the rules to get support.  Based on that, you can see Yankee4Life's skepticism to your response.

 

Out of curiosity, and you don't have to answer, when you say you are a collector is it just to have multiple  copies of the game on different platforms or is it for investment purposes?  If it is for investment purposes, didn't you just reduce the value of the PC version of the game?  That is the version that commands the highest prices since it is harder to get.  I have two official copies of the game myself, but that is mainly as a backup in case something ever happens to the first copy I bought when the game first came out.
