  1. It's been awhile since I've looked at it so I'm a little rusty. Here are some thoughts off the top of my head that would be great:

    • Editing All-Star Teams without duplicating players
    • re-alignment of teams, editing their logos, names, etc
    • adding uniform and uniform slots, and smart detection for the database limitation for number of uniforms that can be added, which uniform slots place things like player numbers in different spots, etc
    • I like Jim's suggestion about portrait detection, but think along the same lines with cyberfaces - would be good to quickly look up what slots aren't being used, and identifying the special slots (such as the long hair slog used for Randy Johnson/Johnny Damon)
    • Smart detection for the database limitation for players
    • adding and editing player audios (which by the way, with AI, we can now easily create pretty much any player audio)
    • If you want to get really nifty: the option to use a database of alternate portraits and cyberfaces to make it quick and easy to install
    • Ability to load and edit multiple rosters at one time, so you can literally drag and drop players from one roster to the next, etc
    • Crash detection is key. I think you know very well from MVPedit that it's easy to edit something that will crash the game. Without the knowledge of editing the dat files along with MVPedit, it can be cumbersome to create a roster. We all know there are things you can edit in the dat files that you can't do in MVPedit, such as the pitch speed limitations. Especially with a lot of current players throwing above 100mph these days.
  2. I know, right?  It's insane how smooth a clean xp is. Have you tried installing it on an SSD?  I never imagined XP running so smoothly until I did that.

I ended up getting a  KVM switch so I can switch between machines really easy.

  3. If his face is the problem, you will want to fix that.  Moving him to AAA will just be a temporary solution but it will cause crashing.  You want a stable models.big file.  You will want to check to see if it's the cyberface file itself that is corrupt or if it's an issue with the face assignment.

  4.

I actually removed Windows Defender completely after this mess

well you should still back it up since you lost your discs.  it's a relatively small backup, but it's well worth having a backup of the fresh install on a jump drive or external hdd.

  5. cd drives are useless anyhow.  i can't remember the last time i even needed one on a laptop.

but to fix the issue, you can use the external cd drive if you want.  but like Y4L said, you can also use a jump drive.  the game is portable.  all you need is to create image files of disc 2, and use daemon tools lite to mount them on your laptop.  you can transfer the game from  your computer to a jump drive and play directly from there.

  6. when I first started modding, I had an HP Pavillion zd8000 with a pentium 4 in it, and it ran smoothly.  It was pretty high end at the time but that sucker ran hot.  My friends had more basic models and the game ran, but there were times that it was choppy.

  7. I see what you mean.  I have a corsair 800d case, so it's huge.  So yeah having another desktop takes up some room.  I got lucky because I have a nice large desk, so I made it work.  Plus I like being able to hook it up to my monitors rather than a laptop screen.  None the less, if you can find an old gaming laptop with a pentium 4 or core 2 chip, you should be good to go.
