Out of 10, i'd give it a 6.5 at the moment. It needs at least some text. If you add some sweet text on there, I'd say it'd be a 7 easily. Pretty good for a beginner.

I think, for a beginner, you should start with brushes. Everyone should at least have some experience with brushes.

Download some brushes from deviantart.com, and that'll get you started background-wise.

Themewin, I'd say, for a beginner, your stuff is really good. Your backgrounds are definitely your strongest point, real good job with those.

I love the background, but I'd say it needs some text, and maybe a bigger picture. Konerko should take up a larger portion of the sig. And a border, too. You should always have a border.

You should have used a gaussian blur instead of a motion blur on the middle picture, so his mouth isn't all over the place.

Yeah, I found some C4D brushes on deviantart that were actually converted to work on PS7, so I've been using those to get some sweet backgrounds. Bigschiff, don't you think you should switch the two? The logo in the middle has AL on the left and NL on the right, but you have Peavy on the left and Felix on the right? I found that a bit odd...

That's just my background. I took the Florida blue & orange and made clouds on the background, and then did a whole bunch of crap to it, plopped it on top of the background layer (KC's wallpaper from deviantart), set the Blend Mode to Color, and that's how it turned out.
