After one month of play, the Yankees are 15-9 and 1 game behind the first place Red Sox.

Yankees owner George Steinbrenner had this to say about the team:"I am very pleased with what has been going on this month, Joe[Torre] has handled everything well and hopefully very soon we will be atop the division."

Yankees GM Brian Cashman when asked if anything was in the works:"Not right now,you are always looking for a good deal but it is too early in the season to make any major moves."

Monster four team trade:

Mets: Eric Chavez, Chris Smallenberg

Yankees:Pedro Martinez,Magglio Ordonez

A's: Jason Giambi, Ugeuth Speier,Robinson Cano

Tigers: Jason Kendall

Brian Cashman on the deal:"Well,George became increasingly angry about the fact that 3 games into May we are behind the Red Sox and demanded that I do whatever I could to bump Brown out of the rotation, get rid of Giambi and add a good DH."

Fair trades is on,btw

New Yanks have big Impact

Magglio Ordonez hit a grand slam in the bottom of the tenth inning to give the Yankees a 4-0 win over the A's and Joe Blanton who allowed just 1 hit thru the first 9 frames. Pedro Martinez made his debut and was dominant,he pitched all 10 innings, allowed 7 hits and 2 walks while King 7 and not allowing a run to lower his ERA to 1.90.

I traded Giambi and co to the A's for Kendall,Chavez

Traded Kendall to Wsox for Ordonez

traded Chavez to mets for Pedro.

Even though it wasn't very realistic, it was still a cool trade.
