I edited the schedule,by swapping out opponents, to create a custom schedule. (MLB162_1.dat located in schedule.big)

Playing so many games against the Central is a tad bland to me, so, I'll be playing alot of NL Teams in April and May.

Tigers avoid sweep; win 6-3

Magglio Ordonez and Chris Shelton both homered and knocked in 5 of the 6 Tiger runs to avoid being swept by the Mets. Nate Robertson held New York to 3 runs in his 6 innings on the rubber. Pedro Martinez was worked over by the Detroit batters for 4 walks and was forced to throw 105 pitches in 6 innings of work as he lost his first game of the 2005 campaign. Carlos Beltran proved to be a true Tiger hunter finishing the series with 2 homers and a .500 batting average.

The Tigers improve to 1-2 and face the Dodgers in Detroit in the opening game of a 3 game set tomorrow when Mike Maroth is set to take the hill.

Monroe safe at first sliding, after throw pulled 1B off bag.

Out at the plate, however, I'm sure LoDuca punched him

Pudge doubles to right-center field driving Polanco home from firstbase.

Then with 2 outs and runners on the corners Shelton blasts his 2nd HR of the season.

Beltran lifts a solo tater out of the park in the 4th to get one back.

Quiet at the plate; Tigers lose 1-0

You can't ask for a better pitching performance if your a Tiger fan, or a Dodger fan for that matter. Tigers lost a pitchers duel 1-0 to Los Angeles as Brett Tomko pitched flawlessly striking out 12.

Mike Maroth however gave up the only run in the game in 3rd inning when Jeff Kent doubled and two batters later Jose Cruz Jr. singled for the RBI.

This game was rained out the previous day so, LETS PLAY TWO.

Detroit opened the scoring in 4th with 4 singles and a walk scoring 3 runs in the process. Curtis Granderson delivered an RBI single in the 5th to score Polanco from second base to give the Tigers a 4-0 lead.

Ivan Rodriguez tied the game a 5 with his first homer of the season the ensuing inning.

The Dodgers capped the game with a 2 run 10 inning when Wilfredo Ledezma couldn't stop their mighty bats.

Tiger batters struck out a total of 18 times. Chad Billingsley struck out 9 Tigers and threw 120 pitches until injury forced him to leave the game. Apparently he tore his right shoulder muscle and will be out for 2 months recovering.

Magglio Ordonez will be out of the lineup for an unspecified amount of time for family matters.

Rafael Furcal breaks up a double play.
