New EA Patch

Has anybody simmed a season in Dynasty with patch 3 to see if the 15-man rotation bug is fixed? That would be a major fix if they snuck that in--it had been promised for patch 2 but didn't make it.

Here is my reply from HH2k4.net

Hey Bill,

I simmed a couple of seasons and I couldn't find any evidence of a 15 man rotation...I checked the stats for game starts and there were mainly 4 or 5 guys with 30 +/- starts and then a couple with 1-5 starts which I would assume are injuries...occasionally there were 4 guys with 30+ starts and then 2 or three guys with 10-15 starts...but there were always more than 5 or more guys with zero starts...I hope this answers your question...

Speaking of the rotation, wouldn't anyone of thought, it could be 'casue of the stamina of the pitchers bein' a bit too high, i haven't tried the dynasty out yet (been tweaking around with the roster and playing exhibition to test crap out)

Alright here is the scenario...

I had already played 6 games of season #2...2 games with the new patch...I simmed the rest of season #2 and then 81 games of season #3 and here is how is breaks down:

3 Teams had 15 pitchers

3 Teams had 14 pitchers

2 Teams had 13 pitchers

6 Teams had 12 pitchers

16 Teams had 11 pitchers

Strangely, one of the teams with 15 was mine, but I had sort of relinquished control by simming a season and a half....

There you have it, I hope that is the info you require :D

Thanks Spitoon, I really appreciate it. I'm going to sim a season with Patch 2 and see how it looks--after 6 games, of course. :D

My sense is that far more teams had 15-man rotations with Patch 2. I'll report back shortly. I think this was a far more difficult problem for them to solve than it seemed, which is why it wasn't in Patch 2.

One thing I did notice was that the first time I ran the sim my team drafted a 3B in the first round which I think was rare before...ended up drafting 4 position players (non-pitchers)....The second time I ran it through, they only drafted one position player :?

Okay, my rotation sizes are almost the same with patch 2 as Spitoon's results with patch 3. I didn't even realize it, but EA either did do something with this in patch 2, or Geforce's roster set v3 is having an effect (I don't know if you're using those, Spitoon). I had previously thought this was such a big problem that I was going to use an AL team for my dynasty team, since they don't have to pinch-hit for the pitcher, but based on these numbers, less than 10 teams have this problem, so it's not really that big of a deal, at least not compared to the way it was.

It's good news to know that I don't need to install Patch 3. I'm not sure I have one original file left. :mrgreen: I'm not even playing an EA game anymore--it's the MVP 'Mod Masters of the Universe' version.

it seems the attrib.dat has problems

some players have #NAME? listed instead of the correct values

The #NAME?'s = 0's in the game

OPEN UP WINDOWS EXPLORER-->

goto your mvp2004Data directory-->

HIGHLIGHT ALL THE FILES-->

RIGHT CLICK ON the files-->

Remove the checkmark next to the box that says READ ONLY.

that should fix any problems you have with mvpedit or mvp studio after you install patch 3.

Does not fix the MVPedit problem at least not at my house
