jimdawg47
Oakland, CA--The New York Yankees open thier 2006 season with winning two of the first three games in Oakland. In Game one of the series the Yanks jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Jason and Giambi and Bobby Abreu hit back to back homers. In game two both pitchers pitched well. Mike Mussina was roughed up while Rich Harden closed out the game and pitched a complete game. In the rubber game it took a base hit form Johnny Damon to open the scoring and Hideki Matsui doubled in two runs to secure a victory for the Yankees. Next up the Angels. See ya then. jimdawg47
A NO NO for Wang New York-- After taking two games in Anahiem the Yankees returned home to play the Kansas City Royals. Wang missed a perfect game by a fluke play. A ball was hit to centerfield and Johnny Damon dropped the ball but picked it up and threw it to second to catch Reggie Sanders trying for the extra base. The game charged Damon with an error. I wish I could post the boxscore. Need help on that.
