NYM Posted September 16, 2006 Share Posted September 16, 2006 A couple of days ago I was installing Norton Anti Virus, because my McAfee subscription ran out. Well I put the disk in, ran the program, and let it install over night. Well in that time period my computer got slammed with a whole bunch of virus', adware, and spyware. Ever since I've been getting popups like crazy. What I need is some extra protection along with Norton, and a pop up blocker. I'm currently using FireFox, so please if anyone can give me some tips, please do. I'm trying to focus on mainly getting rid of my popups because the virus' on my computer are being caught. mvp23 Posted September 16, 2006 Share Posted September 16, 2006 First of all, why did you let it install over night? Installation, for me, takes like 10 to 15 minutes. Well it used to because i am using NOD 32 antivirus. Did you try using google toolbar or yahoo toolbar ( both have very good popup blockers). Did you turn on the windows xp pop-up blocker?
