Dynasty Preferences

Would I be wasting my time if I started a dynasty that followed the season from the POV of a GM instead of playing the games just sim them and focus on rebuilding and go through on a year by year period

If you were going to do that, I would do it with Baseball Mogul or Out of the Park baseball, and get all geeky with the boys at those forums ... with games that are distinctly designed just for such a thing.

Yeah, if you want to do that, do it on a game that will give you better statistical output, and more realistic outcomes.

2 games mentioned above are the best for that IMO.

do either of those games allow for playing in the actual games and do they have MLB rights

if I were to rebuild say the San Diego Padres, would people follow it over multiple seasons, or would it be a mistake

You manage or watch the game play by play. I don't think there is a "play" option, but there might be with the 2010 version.

It's a VERY in-depth sim game, rule 5 drafts, all that stuff. Every single aspect of the game. Other than "playing".

But, you didn;t mention an interest in being able to "play" the game, you only talked about being a GM.

The communities for each game make MLB mods (rosters, player pics, logos, etc...) just like we do here for MVP 05.
