Rubicon Posted July 27, 2011 Share Posted July 27, 2011 I'm using a mouse and keyboard to play, and with Shift being the key for stealing I've managed to steal a couple times successfully in game. However, when doing the Drills that involve stealing bases, I just cannot go for the life of me...no matter how long I hold down the key or let go of it. scottybilly Posted July 31, 2011 Share Posted July 31, 2011 Get as big of a lead as possible. As soon as the pitcher lifts his foot to begin his wind-up, Take Off! Sometimes you will get lucky with a faster runner if you take off a split second before the pitcher lifts his foot. Watch closely which side of the base, and which fielder is trying to take the throw to 2nd. Use the X button while jerking the toggle switch to the outside of the base. Usually I slide head first if I know I got a good jump, and the shortstop takes the throw on the 3rd base side of the bag. If the 2nd baseman takes the throw in front of the bag, slide feet first to the outside of the bag. Dont even try to steal 3rd base unless your runner has at least 85 speed.
