No deals for the Red Sox:

General manager Theo Epstein made it official at a press conference this afternoon: The Red Sox did not make any deals before today's 4 p.m. trade deadline.

“Came close on a lot of things, but that’s the nature on these deals,†he said. “Pretty easy to come close, hard to find something that works for both teams.â€

The Globe’s Chris Gasper will have more from the press conference after it ends.

Red Sox called up recently acquired Bryan Cox and sent Van Buren to AAA.

Totte, I was also wondering if you were going to add Bryce Cox to the Wilmington rosters. Since being drafted in the third round by the Sox he's climbed pretty quickly. He got promoted to Wilmington on July 20. Here's some info on him from soxprospects.com

Age: 21

Born: August 10, 1984

Carrollton, TX

Height: 6-4

Weight: 200

Bats: Right

Throws: Right

Drafted: 3rd round, 2006

How Acquired: Draft

College: Rice

High School: Newman Smith (TX)

ETA: mid-2008 Scouting Report: Live bullpen arm with excellent 97 mph fastball with movement and a high 80s slider. Has previously had major struggles with control, including a case of the yips in which he totally lost the strike zone. However, he was able to overcome these issues late in 2006 and absolutely dominated the College World Series.

MLB Comparison: Derrick Turnbow

Also, could you add Jeff Natale to the Blue Rocks roster too?

So I'm back to my dynasty thoughts...

Since I'm a huge Red Sox fan, I need to bring the glory back to Boston by running a dynasty with them BUT I've never played a dynasty with a NL-club. I've decided for either the Phillies, Padres or Cubs. I'll probably start with the Red Sox though

Inside info: I've added Josh Papelbon to the Wilmington Blue Rocks roster.

 whats his pitching repetoir and what submarine style did u give him

Damn, oh well.

I'm not liking these Dodger moves...We could be in trouble sfgiantsflgators.

What are the Dodgers doing?? Getting Lugo is the worst idea ever...so when Kent gets back, where does Lugo go?? Betemit has to play every day, he's young and still improving. I can't believe we let Guzman go for Lugo. At least we get to dump Maddux's salary at the end of the year.
