I will be starting a dynasty with the Toronto Blue Jays of the American League East ... here's the opening post

JAYS PULL-OFF TRADE TO GET VETERAN LEFTY

The Blue Jays wanted a waranted third starter with the moving of Miguel Batista from starter to closer. So they went big and fished out Andy Pettite. The Jays gave up (RP) Scott Schoeneweis and a player to be names later, who turned out to be AAA (SS) Scott Davis to the 'Stros for (LHP) Andy Pettite. Pettite will take over the third-spot in the rotation behind Ace Roy Halladay and Ted Lilly, and in front of David Bush and Josh Towers.

2005 STARTING ROTATION:

ACE: Roy Halladay - 67-39 CAREER W-L

2ND: Ted Lilly - 34-34 CAREER W-L

3RD: Andy Pettite - 155-82 CAREER W-L

4TH: David Bush - 5-4 CAREER W-L

5TH: Josh Towers - 25-23 CAREER W-L

REPORT: The rotation looks pretty solid, especially with the addition of Andy Pettite, he's the oldest one in the rotation and will probably lead the team in most categories. But he is coming off a shoulder injury which could be a HUGE liability for the Jays ... Josh Towers and David Bush have to be on the lookout from day one because of Gustavo Chavin. Chavin, who is a highly-regarded prospect may budge his way into the rotation by the all-star break if Bush or Towers fail to succeed. They have a 286-182 record combined.

Jays Take Easeon Opener 7-1

The Toronto Blue Jays opened up the season with a bang blowing out the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 7-1. Toronto jumped out of the box with two RBI-singles by Vernon Wells and Eric Hinske and a sac-fly by Corey Koskie. After that Mark Hendrickson calmed down ... until the 6th inning. Orlando Hudson and V. Wells had two more RBI-singles and Corey Koskie added to his day with a 2-RBI-single. Tampa Bay got on the board in the eigth with a Jorge Cantu HR.

D-RAYS TAKE GAME 2 WITH EASE 8-0

Tampa Bay easily took game 2. In the 4th Carl Crawford had an RBI-double to make it 1-0. In the sixth Crawford adds and RBI-triple to make it 2-0 then a wild-pitch by Ted Lilly lets Crawford score to make it 3-0. In the 7th Alex anchez jacked a 2-R HR to make it 5-0. Then in the eigth Julio Lugo had an RBI-triple to make it 6-0, Toby Hall had an RBI-single to make it 7-0 then he got driven in by Crawford to make it 8-0.

BLUE JAYS TAKE GAME 3 7-0 AND WIN SERIES VS. DEVIL RAYS

The Blue Jays take the final game of the series 8-0. In the TOP2nd the Blue Jays scored their first 2 runs with Alexis Rios and Greg Zaun hit RBI-singles. Then in the fifth Reed Johnson had an RBI double, Shea Hillenbrand had an RBI single, Eric Hinske had an RBI-double and Alexis Rios had a 2-RBI double. The winning teams outscored the losing teams 22-1 this series. Andy Pettite in his first start as a Jay pitched lights out with 5 K's and 1 H through 7 innings.
