That's my attempt at a sig. If someone's bored and wants to show me up, I'd love to see it! I'll even supply the hi-res pics! :D
-
Anyone up for a NATIONAL CHAMPION sig? :D
-
...I see we decided to stick with the "..." format. ...started the new job on Wednesday - feels good to be put on the full-time payroll after interning somewhere over a good period of time. Can't wait to see how this year plays out. ...Less than 36 hours to go until the game. Can barely sit still - let's do this already. ...About six weeks until pitchers and catchers report. I've never been more ready for Opening Day - despite the fact that I have a feeling that, other than Cain and Zito, this season is going to hurt.
-
If anyone had intentions of - or started doing - this, thanks; but I was able to get a basic thing thrown together. Now...click it and enjoy the Madness! :D

...(three dots securely in place) :hail: to Carrie Underwood. ...one week until the BCS game! ...I love the Zito signing. Yes, the contract is outrageous; but it needed to be done. I can't wait to see how Lowry and Cain respond to Zito's mentoring. ...Have a great New Year's Eve everyone and hopefully everyone's 2007 will go smoothly!

Throwing this out there: As much as I hate the idea of going without my Cain/Tebow sig for awhile, I think it's about time I start pimping my "Total Classics Madness." So, if someone wants to try this idea, I'd appreciate it: I'd like Dave Parker, Harmon Killebrew and Fred Clarke on the sig - with Pool 1 MVP, Pool 2 MVP, and Pool 3 MVP underneath them (in that order). I'd like a silhouette of a fourth guy, with a "?" on his face and Pool 4 MVP underneath him. It's probably too much to fit, but if it's possible I'd also like the teams listed as well (1979 Pirates, 1965 Twins, 1909 Pirates respectively). Then "Total Classics Madness" somewhere on the creation. Here are links to a few pics - hopefully they help out: Parker - http://members.sparedollar.com/pennantpalo...veparker7up.jpg Killebrew - http://coffeyvillewhirlwind.wordpress.com/...8/killebrew.jpg Clarke - http://fieldofdreams.sabr.org/images/fred%20clarke.jpg / http://baseball-fever.com/attachment.php?a...66&d=1149215923 Obviously, you guys are the geniuses. Basically I'd really like those players on the sig - anything else is really up to whoever decides to give it a go.

...It was good to see Florida play like they did last night against Ohio State. It's looked so far as if the team has had trouble getting up for games since we won the title last March - hopefully this gets some swagger back. ...but it's still very early in the college basketball season. And who am I kidding - the real matchup happens in 15 days. ...can't wait to start the new job on Jan 3rd. Finally got my foot in the door - that's all I needed. It's on my shoulders from here on out. ...saw the new Rocky yesterday. Fantastic movie. I'd give it a 9.5 out of 10 - because of the crappy *** fight announcers. Other than that particular annoyance, the movie stood up to the hype.

Touche Mr. Raptor. Nah, it's in Media Relations. Not MLB - but you gotta start somewheres. EDIT: (but there is a little bit of writing involved. better dig out my MLA handbook) -

...Rocky Balboa is definitely on my list. I watched Stallone on Conan the other night and it was a very good interview...and the clip from the movie seemed to have a touch of the original Rocky to it. Made me very excited to see the new one. Can't wait. ...Nothing else really on my mind - except that I'm 26 now. And that the Giants off-season is depressing me. But that's cool... Wish me a happy b-day here. :D

The way I view both memorials is that they planned the WWII Memorial as a celebration towards what the war achieved and to honor those who gave their lives in order to achieve it... ...and that the Vietnam Memorial is a somber reminder of what could be considered a darker time in our history, both at home and abroad.

As the son of a WWII Navy vet, I grew up with a lot of appreciation for country, flag, and a large respect for what our service men and women do for our country. My dad, like myriads of other young men in the early 40's enlisted after this horrendous tragedy. And, like many of the young men, he wasn't exactly 18 when he did it. A huge thanks to the men and women currently serving, that have served, and especially to those who died 65 years ago today with no warning, and with no chance to defend themselves until it was too late. Also, if you ever get the chance to see Pearl Harbor and the Arizona Memorial, do not hesitate. It's a wonderful tour - and very eerie to see the names of those who died on the wall above the Arizona.

...Well, it comes down to today. The heads of college football should be shot in their knee caps and tortured until they vote to change this piece of **** system. Yeah, I said it. ...speaking of torture, Brian Sabean is still running the Giants. He's got one chance to redeem himself, and it begins this week. If he can't pull off a deal to bring in the next franchise player to replace Bonds, don't let him on the plane back to San Fran.
-
...the BCS needs to be torn the **** down. Can someone tell me what "style points" have to do with winning a championship? How about they handle it like they do IN EVERY OTHER GODDAMN SPORT and take the top x amount of teams, make a bracket, and find out who's the best. And don't give me the argument about adding bowl games will interfere with classes: all the other divisions of NCAA football have playoffs - are their student athletes' educational futures worth less than the division 1 kids? ...usually I don't watch basketball until March Madness, but the Florida/Kansas game last night was damn good (much better than any NBA game you'll ever see). Obviously the wrong team won, but the regular season doesn't mean much anyway - both squads will be highly ranked in the tournament. ...well, unless Sabean has a plethora of blockbuster trades waiting in the wings, the Giants are going to suck reallly bad next season. At least I'll be able to watch Cain pitch every 5th day.

diggin it. and not just cause i'm a pens fan (but it doesn't hurt) :D
-
fair enough :D

...Jarvis Moss and his 6'6" frame should get two rings if Florida ends up winning the National Championship. There's a long way to go, but games like that usually make or break a season. ...that being said, Ohio State and Michigan are two damned good squads. The only chance Florida has is to play without the dumb penalties that have plagued them all season. ...if it wasn't for me doing so well in fantasy football (not the mvpmods league in which I only win against "dead" opponents - my other one), I wouldn't know anything about what's going on in the NFL this season. I watch Florida, watch the Penguins, and play the games in my "Total Classics Madness". And the thing is, I don't miss the NFL one bit.
