  1. "Kccitystar, I have a question: will the tool be able to edit MVP Baseball rosters from 2003 and 2004 series, or is it only designed to go beyond 2005?" It'd be nice if we could edit MVP 03 with the editor, aside from using text editor's I haven't had much luck modding the game. The rosters don't have minor leagues, just an inactive roster for every team and FA list. Another interesting thing about the ratings is that speed/fielding and other values actually go from 1-9 and don't go up or down by increments of 5 like in MVP04 and 05.
  2. If you're trying to run it in a VM, Windows XP would be your best bet. You would have to manually install all of the drivers for direct X and such though. I run the game now using Win 10 and with a program called DGVoodoo2 and it works you just have to configure your settings and make sure you run as administrator in compatibility mode XP service pack 3.
  3. Great thank you very much! I took a look at the spreadsheet and see why the project would take 3 years of hard work. 9650 names to catalog and get sound for is a tremendous amount of data. We're incredibly lucky to have such an amazing resource and fan of baseball and the game!
  4. That is good information to know. I have not installed that audio mod yet although I do have it. Is there a program or spreadsheet that has the legend of the booth information about assigned player IDs and such? For my project I intend to just use the unmodded default roster of the game and replace all of the fake players including the non union guys such as Kevin Millar and Damian Miller.
  5. Hello all, I am doing some research into editing in game sounds and commentary for the game. The idea is to do a full conversion MOD of the 2001 season. I saw that Junior had started a project called MVP classic 2001 but has not posted about it since 2022. It says he was about 80% done. If he uploaded or shared the file would anyone be willing to post it so I can use/complete it for my project? I have found out how to import the commentary of Jon Miller from ESPN baseball and am working on converting the files to .wav. I have to fix the audio to remove background noise and the "chipmunk effect" on the clip but otherwise you can understand the play by play. The goal is to create the 2001 season with accurate as possible opening day rosters. I will be making a few 'twists' if there's a complete scrub versus a notable MLB player on a roster that was brought up for a handful of games they will be assigned to AAA or AA instead of the big leagues. (Mark Bellhorn will be a starter/bench bat for the A's.) A player that spent part of the year in Japan or independent league will be assigned to the team they eventually signed with if applicable. If they were in Japan or indy league for the entire year they will be on a created team. Ball park wise I would have Olympic stadium return for the Expos as the Nationals 1st season was 2005. The other in game stadiums I will not touch. Veterans, Cinergy, Jack Murphy/Qualcomm etc. even though it would be accurate for 2001 they're not the iconic parks that were built circa 02 and 03. I will also have player ratings based upon their career peaks. For example, Jose Canseco will have 40/40 potential as a White Sox outfielder and backup DH, Tony Gywnn will still be a threat to run as will Barry Bonds. There will also be super utility players/position eligibility switches to reflect team needs. Using the Angels for example, Troy Glaus would have INF as a secondary, and Adam Kennedy would have 2B/UTL as he was a utility player later in his career. Albert Pujols would be a primary 3B and utility player. We will also assume that Mo Vaughn, Frank Thomas, Mark McGwire, Nomar Garciaparra and others do not get injured before or during the season. I would also love to be able to add an accurate batting stance for Barry Bonds, Chuck Knoblauch, and Matt Williams. I know the stances are in MVP03 but can't figure out how to import them to the game. If anyone would like to help with this project it would be greatly appreciated!
  6. I have looked into editing MVP 03 and Triple Play Baseball 2002, aside from tinkering with files in notepad I can't figure out how to mod those games or import any data or assets unfortunately. What I'm trying to do remake an MVP classic 2001 total conversion MOD and was curious how close Junior was to finishing it. The last thing I read was he was 80% done.
  7. I was looking into editing .dat files from MVP03 and MVP04. Will the latest version of MVP edit support this? I kept getting an error message when I tried import the information. I also tried using big UI for the .big files and got the same type of error message. It gave me the invalid header error message. I'm also interesting if anyone knows how I could import a batting stance from one of the older games and replace Ty Cobb's stance for example.
  8. Can you explain a bit more about the hitter values that I pull up in MVP edit? For example I'm trying to figure out if a 4 on HR v L or HR v R translates to a percentage when I look at their hit chart data. I looked at some of the values and saw that a few power hitters have a value of 12 HR, or 9 HR in that screen. One of them was the 98 mod, the other was the default roster.
  9. Very, excited about this. I have been using MVPedit for a little over a few weeks now and am getting used to it. I'm trying to figure out how to edit the Washington Nationals and change them back to the Montreal Expos. I also want the default stadium to be Olympic and not RFK stadium. The MOD I'm trying to make will be based on the 2001 season. I want to remove the legend teams and make them AL/NL 2001 rookies/notable players future all-stars. I also need the all-star game location switched to Seattle. Will the new editor also allow me make rotation and lineup changes a little bit easier? Or if I just want to copy and paste a lineup and then fix it later. Is there also a way to translate what some of the data actually means to in-game attributes? Like I know the fielding and throwing stats are up to 15, but in correlation to in game are they 99% ratings or a 100% ratings? I also know that based upon my tinkering around with MVP03 stats they have lower values (arm strength/flding) . MVP04-05 have some ratings that go by increments of 5 that MVP 03 does not use. A resource like this would definitely help someone that is new to modding the game.
  10. I like the batted ball sounds of MVP03 a little bit more. Just my personal preference.
  11. Hi all, been trying to do some research to see how I could edit in game sound files. I am not looking to edit any of the announcer files, I want to change the hitting sounds.
  12. "Please remember that Mvp Baseball 2005 is nineteen-years-old and came out when Windows XP was around. There are many problems running this game with Windows 11. I have no problem running it on XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 10" Ok I was just confused about your response, does the thread allow you to troubleshoot it?
  13. I am also very new here, I am having issues running the game on Windows 10, it is installed but will not run properly. Any suggestions?
