Game 11, Marlins @ Mets

Dontrelle Willis (0-1, 1.98) vs Tom Glavine (1-0, 1.39)

The Mets opened the scoring in the bottom of the first, with Jose Reyes leading off with a single, stealing second, moving to third on Paul Lo Duca's grounder, and scoring on Carlos Beltran's single. In the top of the 2nd, Dontrelle Willis singled to center, before Glavine issued back to back walks to load the bases. A double play forced a run in, and a Mike Jacobs single scored the second run of the inning, giving Florida a 2-1 lead.

In the 4th, Delgado walked to lead off, Wright singled, and back to back ground outs by Floyd and Nady produced the tying run. In the 6th, Floyd hit a one out double, and after Nady struck out, Jose Valentin singled, scoring Floyd. Tejesh pinch hit for Glavine, but Eli Marrero grounded out, ending the inning. The Mets scored a run, and took a 3-2 lead to the seventh, where setup man Duaner Sanchez loaded the bases on two walks and a single. Chad Bradford came on and promptly hit Marlins right fielder Jeremy Hermida, forcing in a run. After striking out Dan Uggla, an error by David Wright allowed another run to score. Bradford ended the bleeding by inducing leadoff hitter Miguel Olivo to ground into a double play.

A walk to Reyes leading off the bottom of the 7th proved disasterious for former Met farmhand Yusmiero Petit, as Reyes promptly did what Reyes does best, stole 2nd and 3rd, and scored on Carlos Beltran's one out triple. Chad Bradford allowed 3 straight hits to lead off the top of the 8th, and, helped out by a caught stealing, only ended up giving up a 2 run homer to Mike Jacobs. After a walk to Wes Helms, Pedro Feliciano came in for Bradford and promptly allowed a single to Jason Stokes, and a walk to Jeremy Hermida, loading the bases. Henry Owens was brought in with the bases loaded and one out, and allowed a hit, before getting Petit on a strike out and Olivo on a flyout.

Cliff Floyd led off the bottom of the 8th with a homer, pulling the Mets to within two at 7-5. Endy Chavez then pinch hit for Xavier Nady and drew a walk.

"Nady doesn't hit righties that well, and Endy, being a lefty, does, so I went with the percentages." Tejesh said. A double play ball by Valentin ended the rally, as Henry Owens was allowed to hit for himself and struck out. Owens stayed in for the 9th and allowed a one out homer to Miguel Cabrera, giving Florida the 3 run lead back, at 8-5. The Mets went down meekly in the bottom of the 9th, and lost the game 8-5.

Lets see if this works ;)

Tom Glavine (1-0, 1.90) vs Dontrelle Willis (0-1, 2.75)

With the Mets restings Carlos Delgado and Cliff Floyd, manager Tejesh Patel put together a rather unorthodoz lineup, with Reyes leading off followed by Nady, Lo Duca, Wright, Beltran, Eli Marrero in left, Julio Franco at first, and Jose Valentin hitting eighth. The lineup produced two hits and walk, but Reyes got thrown out trying to steal 2nd, so the Mets did not produce a run. In the bottom of the 1st, Miguel Olivo singled and stole second, scoring on Miguel Cabrera's one out single and giving Florida an instant 1-0 lead. The Mets pushed across the tying run in the top of the 6th, Reyes led off with a single, stole second, moved to third on Nady's groundout, and scored on Lo Duca's groundout. looks like your starting to get the hang of it - the boxscore was definitely a big improvement.

one thing i would suggest is, with regards to the writeup; split it up into a few paragraphs like you did in Games 21 and 22. it makes it both easier to read and less intimidating to someone looking through your dynasty.

Game 25: Mets @ Nats

Pedro Martinez (4-0, 1.73) vs Zach Day (1-1, 5.63)

Zach Day and Pedro Martinez matched zeroes for the first 3 innings, and Day had retired the first 9 Mets, but a leadoff homer by Jose Reyes gave the Mets a 1-0 lead.

The Nationals struck for 3 in their half of the fourth. Marlin Byrd doubled to open the inning, and scored on Alfonso Soriano's double. After Jose Guillen grounded out, Ryan Zimmerman tripled, and Matthew Lecroy singled to plate two more runs, giving the Nationals a 3-1 lead.

The Mets lost, 6-2.

Game 26: Phillies @ Mets

Jon Lieber (3-1, 2.70) vs Tom Glavine (2-0, 2.38)

A Pat Burrell single, a walk to Aaron Rowand and a Mike Leiberthal 3 run homer put Philly ahead 3-0 in the top of the 2nd inning.

The Mets answered right back with 2 in the bottom half of the inning. Carlos Delgado doubled and David Wright singled him to third. A Cliff Floyd single drove home a run, and a Xavier Nady grounder drove Wright in from third with the second run of the inning.

The Phillies got a run in the 4th, off a Rowand single and Abraham Nunez double, and the Mets got that run back in the 5th on a Jose Valentin solo home run. Valentin, hitting .396 coming into the game, has been one of the pleasant and unexpected surprises in the early season.

"We were hoping to give Jeff Keppinger a month in AAA and bring him up to assume the second base job, but how can you justify benching a .400 hitter with pop?" Tejesh said, smiling at the irony. "I'm a young players guy, I love youth, but there's no way you can justify sitting Valentin for Keppinger." Jeff Keppinger is hitting .440+ in Norfolk.

Carlos Beltran singled and stole 2nd leading off the bottom of the 6th, and with one out, David Wright doubled him home with the tying run. Endy Chavez pinch hit for Tom Glavine in the 7th, and Henry Owens came on to protect a 4-4 tie in the 8th.

A leadoff double by David Wright got the Mets started in the bottom of the 9th, and after Cliff Floyd's grounder moved Wright to third, Xavier Nady won it with a walk off single.

"Henry Owens has emerged pretty quickly as a vital part of this bullpen. I'm thrilled at his excellent development." Tejesh said.

Jose Valentin is hitting .390 with 7 HR and 21 RBI out of the 8 hole. Henry Owens has a 1.02 era in 17.2 IP with the Mets. Jeff Keppinger is hitting .449 with 4 HR and 14 RBI for the Norfolk Tides in the International League.

Randy Wolf (4-1, 2.70) vs Steve Trachsel (3-1, 1.75)

With Paul Lo Duca and Jose Valentin getting the game off, the Mets again featured an unorthodoz lineup, with David Wright hitting 2nd, followed by Beltran, Delgado, Nady moved up to the 5 hole, Ramon Castro sixth, followed by Cliff Floyd and Chris Woodward.

In the bottom of the first, Reyes singled, stole second, and scored on two grounders by Wright and Beltran, giving the Mets a 1-0 lead. A leadoff homer in the bottom of the 5th gave the Mets some breathing room, at 2-0.

In the bottom of the 6th, Reyes led off with a single and stole second. Wright walked, but Beltran hit into a double play, moving Reyes to third with 2 down. Carlos Delgado doubled, scoring Reyes and giving the Mets a 3-0 lead. The Mets broke the game open in the bottom of the 8th. With one out, Wright doubled. The Phillies intentionally walked Beltran to bring up Delgado, who also walked, loading the bases. Xavier Nady hit a grand slam to left, giving the Mets a 7-0 lead.

Duaner Sanchez came on to try and work the kinks out of his season. He allowed a lead off single, but got a double play grounder and retired the side without a run scoring.
