UncleMo
Hello, I would like to do some advanced editing on music but do not know how to. What I would like to do is take a song, remove all lyrics by the singer, and have an all instrumental song. How in the world does the Average Mo do that? Thanks in advance. Totte
My friend is a sound technician enginier and I asked him about this a month ago and he said that there are programs that does do that but they're really expensive plus you might have to face the fact that it removes some instrument as well if it's been recorded at the same channel as the voice. Guitars and vocals are usually recorded at the same channel... If it's an old song (like Bobby Brown by Frank Zappa like in my case), the vocals and guitar are definitely on the same channel. You might have better luck with a newer song...
SwinginSoriano
Too bad there are no free ones out there. There are some CD players that have a 'karroke' (sp?) option that removes vocals, but none on the computer from what I know. (Or I'd be making song parodies in my spare time.) Anyway, nice avatar Mo. bjbourg1
I've always wanted to do that as well. I know you can download quite a few rap/hip-hop songs that only have instrumentals, but it's very difficult to find any rock songs or older songs with only instrumentals. I have a few rap/hip-hop ones, but no rock ones. And on an off-topic note (sorry for getting off topic), Totte, I've got much love for the DMB as well. I'm a huge fan. I'm going to there concert in Houston, TX in two weeks. It'll be my 4th straight year going to at least one of their concert's.

Sorry for the off-topic stuff Mo :(
