I think that Burgos has a lot more potential than Jenks, and as though Jenks is a lights out Closer in real life, he can come up in tough situations and come through, as he has before. RmembrZito75 Posted March 2, 2007 Author Share Posted March 2, 2007 Oakland A's (0-0)at Seattle Mariners (0-0) A's edge out Mariners in Season Opener by James Russo of the Sports Now Magazine The Oakland A's were lucky to get out of a late rally in the 9th by the Seattle Mariners to win a close game by the score of 3-2. Johan Santana looked like a rookie pitcher out on the diamond giving up 15 hits, but surprisingly, he only allowed 2 runs. Santana's counterpart, Mussina, was pitching like an ace. He threw a complete game with five strikouts, but was still saddled with the loss. After the game I caught up with Matt Kemp who hit the game winning homerun in the 7th inning for the Oakland A's.
