Well I'm a Red Sox fan, but I got sick of being them so I closed my eyes and picked a team to do a fantasy draft with. Anyway, I got the Milwaukee Brewers, and I won about 115 games in my first year with them (which I just finished), thanks to great hitting in the first half, and my pitching came alive in the second half. I probably can't remember everyone, but I'll post what I can recall.

Sox w/rrod v.4 on totalminorplus rosters, MVP difficulty

i've never finished a full season on my own. i usually get to the all-star break and a new roster would come out or i would lose interest and start over.

58-15 (won 20 straight and getting bored) 1st in pitching/defense/hitting/baserunning

C Varitek .241/8/18 signed to 5 years and has slumped like crazy since

1B Kevin Millar .276/12/31 traded Doug M. to Mets for prospects (Victor Diaz OF/Mike Jacobs C) to free up $$ and Millar was whining with platooning

2B Bernie Castro .261/1/7 acquired from SD for Ramiro Mendoza, again for $$$. 9/10 in SB's in 15 games

3B Mark Bellhorn .239/7/21 Mueller is on the DL, again, and Youkilis sucks against RHP.

SS Orlando Cabrera .273/8/38 not resigned yet so slumping a bit, 26/32 in SB attempts

LF Manny Ramirez .393/18/60 stud, always happy, 27 doubles in 73 games

CF Johnny Damon .276/3/26 complainer and slumped as leadoff so moved to #2 when acquired Castro 40/44 in SB attempts. looking to trade.

RF Trot Nixon .326/15/56 unhappy but still hits, leading majors w/29 doubles in only 60 games played, never walks. twice on DL

DH David Ortiz .312/19/50 the man

Uncertain about Mueller if I can't get anything for Youkilis. AAA/AA is pretty much stacked with prospects in light of trades. We'll see though :)

Unfortunatley, i lost my dynasty cuz my comp freaked out and had to re-format. So i decided to to start one with the Mets until MVP 05 comes out. I am using 2004 Trade Deadline roster. I dotn want to use an offseason roster since those trades are far from over.

Anyway i made one transaction so far. Traded one of my setup men for 2 prospects (2B Jorge Seqea and SS Aaron Hill from TO) I dont like the farm team so I am going to rebuild the farm but also maintain competitive.

I am seriously thinking of trading Al Leiter and Tom Glavine. I might keep one and try to ge ta young ACE. Someone like Javier Vasquez or Carlos Zambrano. I will update later maybe.

Year One with the Pirates on All-Star level (I can't hit)

C - Humbrero Cota .386 5 HR - Santiago blows

1B- Randall Simon - .340 6 HR - I like this guy

2B - Freddie Sanchez/Bobby Hill - Depends on righty or lefty

3B - Ty Wigginton - .250 1 HR - this guy is pathetic, can't wait to get rid of him, I have a decent prospect in the minors developing

SS - Jack Wilson - .256 1 HR 9 SB's - can't seem to get a hit with this guy

LF - Jason Bay - .198 4 HR - I know, I'm trying, I'm learning

CF - Tike Redman - .265 9 SB's - starting off hot, then got cold

RF - Craig Wilson - .343 8 HR 22 RBI - then fractured his leg, out for 25 days

RF - Matt Lawton - .300 this guys is on fire for me, good fill in for Wilson, might replace Redman when he comes back.

ROTATION

Oliver Perez - 3-0 1.78 ERA 29 K's in 28 innings

Mark Redman - 3-0 1.11 ERA

Jason Burnett - 2-0 3.14 ERA

Kip Wells - 2-1 4.22 ERA

Josh Fogg - 1-2 3.88 ERA

BULLPEN

Main guys I use:

Soloman Torres

Jose Mesa - 9 SV's

Grabow and Johnston (two lefties)

I am 14-5 right now. I just absolutely suck at hitting, especially with Bay and Wilson. Any tips on hitting that I could be willing to try out? The only thing I have tried so far is taking one strike for sure, unless it's a red zone ball, that way I swing at less balls and the pitcher tires out quicker. I've improved, but I am still bad. And the Cubs kick my *** everytime.

I often have the same problem with hitting that you do, though I've improved a great deal, I'm still not great. Anyway, one thing you could try aside from taking one sure strike is to pay attention to what the pitcher is throwing to one guy and take that into account on the next guy. For example, say you have an awful at bat (strike out swinging on 3 straight balls, for example), then be more patient with the next guy, maybe take 2 strikes instead of one.

When will you guys start a new Dynasty, once Delgado signed? Or when Spring Training kicks in, or anytime, with the current roster situation? I will start my new one, once Delgado has a new home, the rest out there, really doesn't change much in my opinion....

I have since changed my Astro and Baltimore one, I am just doing sims now, playing a game every now and then. I replaced Spahn with Rj on my Astros one, and on my Baltimore one, Valentin + minor leaguers for Furcal, Abreu for Magglio. My Baltimore team is incredibly fast, I have about 7 players over 85 speed and about 5 more over 70.

  • 3 weeks later...

Started my dynasty about a week ago and i just won my first game. After losing my first 14 games of the season i finaly beat the Mets 2-1. Brad Wilkerson hit the winning homer in top of the 9th.

I play every games on all-star with kam's mod level 3 tweaks and all-star sliders.

I use the Expos on Kerm's ODR MVP 2004 Default Roster and did not trade or signed anyone.

I hope i can win another one before All-Star break :)
