"Aw, Kipe, this guy LOVES to break wood!" WHO EVER says that about a player???

The most annoyoing however, is any of the various "This grounds crew is second to none...check out the checkerboard pattern!"

The announcers LOVE the grounds crew's talents, but the Myrtle Beach Pelicans threw a PERFECT GAME against my Wilmington Blue ROcks, and NO MENTION of it was made. 8O I have announcers turned off now.

Keep your priorities straight. Perfect games are a dime a dozen. But LOOK at the checkerboard pattern!!!

"BIG BOOOOY" still cracks me up!

Another one that cracked me up came from the crowd once while playing against the Braves (I was the Marlins and playing at Pro Player Stadium). When Chipper Jones comes up to the plate, someone in the crowd rips out "Hey, Larry! You suck!"

Chipper's real name is Larry Wayne Jones.

Seems like every time I play at RFK stadium, he mentions how they have the best grounds crew in the mlb....uh not quite

He says that in EVERY stadium at the start of EVERY game.

How many announcers talk about the state of the field in a non-rainy game?

I have yet to hear that comment where it is artificial turf, but it wouldn't suprise me if they did say that in SkyDome or Tropicana.

Here are a few...

"This guy is all over the place, and the hitters are going to sit there and make him throw a strike"...after my pitcher has thrown only the first pitch of the game.

"The pitcher had his back against the wall, he makes great pitches, and gets the strikeout", when my pitcher threw no balls and made 3 straight pitches for strikes.

"The batter couldn't catch up to that fastball", when the pitch was a slider.
