Anyone out there have a copy of the game they're willing to sell?

[Edit] Anyone here have experience with Amazon.com? I see plenty of people selling the game there, but I don't wanna risk not receiving the item after I order it. I don't see this topic anywhere in Amazon's help section. I encountered this problem with PayPal, but they at least have a claim policy in this event, so there is minimal risk in ordering the game from someone online (as I did a few weeks ago, but never received it).

You know, EA every once in awhile re-issues games, sometimes in a bundle. We've all seen them. At Circuit City one time I saw a bundle of EA games, Nascar, Tiger Woods, NBA Live and Hockey from 2005 bundled together as one purchase. But there was no baseball game. I really believe that they didn't reissue this game because of this website.

EA said that it is discontinued...At least that's what a buddy of mine who

works at gamestop had told me.

I scowered the entire state of Michigan and found 6 total copies...Their

still suprisingly lying around some stores..But it's finding those stores

that is hard.

Hello folks....I'm new here (obviously), and I have been trying to locate this game for a couple of months now for a reasonable price. I have come across people on different boards that say they saw a few copies of the game for PC here and there, but I live in NY(Albany/capital district) and I cannot find this game ANYWHERE....

anyway, if anyone here has a copy they would be willing to sell or even comes across a copy that they would be willing to p/u and ship to me, PLEASE let me know. I will be continuing my search today b/c I really want to play this game and I want to find out for myself all the great things that are being said about this game and it's mods....Thanks for reading...

Speaking of ebay, when they have some people bidding multiple times in a row like this, is that because soemone is trying to jack up the price? It says right on that page it doesn't show bids that go up because of the bidders maximum amount, so why else would they have multiple bids in a row, like 763682 does in this one.

The only way I can see that happening, besides artificially bumping the bid would be the 'max bid' thing...even though it says that it doesn't do that.

The interesting thing is that all those bids happened in 51 seconds...I'm not sure you could pull that off doing it manually...I mean it would take longer than that to type your bid, submit it, then repeat...wouldn't it????

from my understanding from using that site in the past, it's pretty simple. say an item us up for bid $5, with $1 increments. if i were to post a $30 bid, it would show as the highest bid at $6. until someone comes along and tries to bid on it. say the next guy comes along and bids $10. well he's going to be told he's been outbidded because of my $30 bid. the bid will now be at $11. say the guy bids $15 right away again, he'll get the same message and then the current bid will be me at $16. so in the history, it'll show me with three successive bids at $6, $11, and then $16. if the auction ends at this point, i win it at $16. in order for someone else to get the highest bid, they would have to bid at least $31.

but again, who knows if it applies here, but that's just been my experience with it.

So then that disclaimer means the outbidded bid doesn't show up then? I guess that makes sense. Maybe I was just looking for a conspiracy...lol.

for anybody out there looking to buy one, I don't think you should fret over the $60-80 price tag to just "buy now" because as most users on this site already know, it is SO worth it. Probably the best game that is worth the money once you get the mods.

Luckily, I persuaded my wife to let me buy it when it first came out. I'm deathly afraid when the disc stops working due to overuse. But I'll buy it again in a second--it's that good.

I'd make a backup of the game, either with .isos or copying the CD, and use those to play. That way you don't have to worry about the CDs going bad. All perfectly legal, too.

but wouldn't copying the CD make the disc not work due to some copy protection or something? I've tried that before and then a pop-up said something to the effect of "please insert the original MVP baseball disc two". It wouldn't let me load the copy.

I'd actually reccomend D Skins which are protective covers for your discs so they won't be scratched up. They are just a light plastic covering that snap on to the disc itself and the disc can be read through the plastic in the drive.

I think Y4L discovered them on here first and said that Staples was the best place to find them. That's where I got mine. They are pretty cheap and work great.

That was what I thought, but the disclaimer clearly says "Only actual bids (not automatic bids generated up to a bidder's maximum) are shown."

So it shouldn't be showing those incremental 'automatic bids'...As I mentioned in my post, the other odd thing is that all 4 of those bids were made in about 50 seconds....who knows?

yeah i agree. it says what it says. all i know is with my experience with it in the past, that's what i've seen with an auction i was bidding on. it just seems to be the only explanation i can gather. i guess we could just try asking an admin over at ebay about it.

i agree with kg. i haven't used the original cds since i bought them. i used the image files i made from them to install, and the mini image to play. my cds are still in perfect condition because of this. hint: clonecd.

Wish, I checked here first. I picked up a copy at the local Gamestop for 26.99 a month ago. Was going to sell it to a guy on Operation Sports for $32. I wasn't wasn't trying to make a profit I was trying to help a fellow gamer. Well, the deal fell through and some guy contacted me last Friday and I sold him the game along with the 07 MOD (on disk) and the Patch #2 (on Disk) all for $32 (included shipping). I think I lost a buck or two in this but I believe in giving more than taking. Sorry, I didn't check in here first.
