Hey Jr. the presentation looks pretty good on that trade. Who is going to play catcher for you now?

I'm going to start Bowen tonight against Texas, but I'll keep (Koyie) Hill with his gear on, ready to go.

Blanco is back at AAA, so I'll platoon the two for awhile.

Great presentation on the trade JR. Did you create Burke?

Thanks, M. Yeah, I created him and stuck him down at Daytona.

Just for a 'sidebar' to the season, I'm going to keep a special eye on him and see if he can make his way to the Majors.

I'll report accordingly.

Jr, I have OCD so I rather see Barrett in a Padres uniform...lol

I know, but I already had Barrett's card made. I thought of doing a Padre's card but it would probably be the only one I make all season.

I'm not sure if it would have been worth it.

BTW, he's THEIR problem now. :)

Hey JR, can you send me his attributes, etc.. that you used to create him. No rush, just when you get time.

Too bad you had to trade Barret, JR :(

Yeah, despite his .245 average, Barrett was actually a decent clutch guy. He seemed to come through at times when I needed him most.

Hopefully it pans out though, Bowen may prove to be more productive. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks JR. Man, I'm already missing Barrett's bat. K. Hill went 0-for-4 in the 1st game in San Diego. But the clubhouse is alot quieter.

Sorry to hear that, M. Hill is 0-5 in the two games that he's played for me, but you know it's early.

Isn't this what makes it fun though? Trying to develop your players (paying special attention at the plate while they're hitting, fielding, etc.), is what makes the season worth it.

To me, the strategy is one of the best parts of the game. I realize you play the same way, so I understand controversy all too well. :)

Anyway, here's Burke's attributes. He's actually born in 1988, but the game would only let me go up to '87. No big deal though. I left most of his attributes at default (hitting, fielding, so on..), since he's basically unknown, and a youngster at that.

As far as productivity, I'm curious to see how he fares from here on out. I'll be watching him.

Teixiera, not Texiera. It's a hard name to spell, I forgive you. :p

Juts curious, but how did you decide to bat Pie leadoff? He hardly seems like the best decision up there.

Yeah? Who would you have leading off and why?

Just curious.

Good point.

I was just curious, I guess I can see why you made that decision.

Actually, I was really curious. Some people are able to see things a little different from the 'outside' sometimes.

As you can see, this lineup (due to injuries and suspensions lol) is pretty weak.

I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks for the input. :)

Is it just me, or is it harder than he** to complete a sweep? I just got robbed in the last game of my series against Texas. Two bad throws that cost me two runs, and the game.

With that said, I still like the fact that it's reasonably realistic.

Too bad though, Rob Bowen went 0-4 in his first game as a Cubbie.

Congrats on the series JR. Gotta tip my hat to 'ole "Slammin" Sammy too.

Ditto. I didn't think he had it in him.

I checked his numbers for the series:

He went 1-12 (HR) in the series. I threw one pitch high and tight, and he blasted it. He didn't see much else the rest of the series. :)

It seems I'm holding ground at 5 games back. I've got the White Sox (29-42), and then the Rockies (33-39) come to Wrigley.

My goal is to pull within 3 games of Houston by the end of the month.

Here are the current standings:

hows the wild card looking?

Philly is on the verge of running away with the East (47-26).

The Mets have pulled 2 games ahead of me in the Wild Card Race (42-30)

No time to panic yet, but at this point every game becomes important if I'm going to stay in this thing.

Not exactly "Breaking News", but I'm hoping the Cubs can pull this one off. I haven't read the details, but I can't imagine the Reds not wanting Cliff Floyd among other things; pitching, cash maybe.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this one as well.
