Homer
not sure. never paid too much attention to those file sizes. however, let me ask you this...was it an 04 style cyberface? also, you're extracting the orl file too right? and it's all in the same folder? Thome25
No not an 04 CF but the face I load was in another folder. I'll try it in the same folder and let you know how it goes.
Homer
the only other things i know that a cyberface would do to crash is the installation or the index file. not sure how you installed it, but make sure it's compressed somehow and make sure the id is set right in mvpedit. secondly, read the part about the index lines. they should match up. Yeah I know about the index line but it just crashes my game everytime I try and do this. I make a self install bat file to install it into the models.big and that compresses it. I dont know if I am useing the wrong version of oedit but for some reason this just isnt working for me.
Homer
yeah, i'm kinda at a loss. it's hard to know what unless i'm there seeing what you're doing. have you tried using an alternate method of installing it? i would try that. or you can post your files up and i can test them tonight. Homer
ok, i tried it out. and it all worked out just fine. just like i said, just a little mapping issue with the mouth and right eye, but otherwise it works fine. no crashing here. so the issue is something else. at what point is it crashing in the game? Your kidding me, how are you compressing it cause thats gotta be my problem. When it crashes, their are times when the player will show and the game works for about a half inning and then their are times when it wont work at all. Homer
pheeww! glad you got it figured out. the download is up and fully functional. there is a download available at this site now for those not able to access megaupload. plus it'll probably be a faster download (no guarantees though!). thanks to trues and tebjr for their help getting it loaded on this site. Homer
i don't have it in front of me, but read the tutorial. it's in the first few pages somewhere. i'm assuming it's because you didn't extract the orl and ord files with biggui. JP_Frost
i don't have it in front of me, but read the tutorial. it's in the first few pages somewhere. i'm assuming it's because you didn't extract the orl and ord files with biggui. that's exactly what happened. I had the same thing the other day, and it's because the ord and orl files get resized in biggui, so when you extract them from someplace else you can see that they have a different file size. genchildren65
i'm having a time trying to extract these files, i know it's huge so it won't be quick but every time i go to extract it, i come back to the pc and it's stopped at 20 percent or something and has frozen. any help with this would be greatly appreciated! i first used winrar then this program: http://www.7-zip.org/
Homer
what the computer has frozen? or the program?
genchildren65
just the program.
Homer
well i gotta say i've never heard of that. if someone else can shed light on it, that would be great. the only thing i could think of is that your download was actually incomplete. but this usually happens if you're not using a download manager. but i've never heard of it freezing because of it. genchildren65
yeah, i figured as much, it's probably just my junk pc, i've had it since 2001 without many major hardware upgrades so it's ancient. well, i'll just set it to unpack overnight and see what happens. anyways, thanks again guys. genchildren65
homer, would you object to me posting a screen cap of my cyberface i'm working on and maybe giving me a few tips as to making the eyes look better? i'm satisfied with the mouth but the eyes and nose are my concern, it seems like those are the parts that give me the most trouble. Homer
no, not at all. in fact i encourage it. that's exactly why i started this thread. if we get enough participation, we can get this thread stickied. the eyes, nose, and mouth are always problem areas.
