Well the Sosa trade isn't a part of these ratings. It was made when the Cubs still had Sosa and Farnworth. Even though you have a team ranked #2 that wasn't event eh second best team in their division last year.

Wow, and you have to love the Cardinals with their vaunted middle infield of David Eckstien and Bo Hart. And the best pitcher in baseball, Rick Ankiel .

Ummm, it's actually David Eckstein and Mark Grudzielanek. You'd think a Cubs' fan would know that.

Don't forget that the Cardinals added Mark Mulder.

Forgot about Dudz and his extraordinary speed and power .

Who cares about power? If Grudzielanek bats at the top of the order, they will want him to get on base for their thumpers. Grudzielanek owns a career .287 AVG, not to mention that he's hit over .300 for the Cubs in the past 2 seasons. Real baseball isn't all about having 8 or 9 power hitters like in a video game, incase you didn't know.

Oh I forgot, that excellent .330 career OBP he owns really helps the Cardinals..

So what does that say about Corey Patterson's career .303 OBP or Jerry Hairston's career .334 OBP? Those are the two guys that will likely be batting at the top of the order for the Cubs.

If Patterson can get plate-discipline he will be Beltran at about a tenth of the price...
