Controller Questions

Hey guys, I purchased this controller at Wallmart a couple weeks back. It's the Steel Series 3GS. U have been trying ever since to get the configuration right. It doesn't show up in the controller select so I have been 12 4 1. I can't get the precision controls to work right. If I have the mode button lit up red, pitching works okay. If i have it green I can't use the total controal pitching. sometimes If i have the mode button red, my players are diving by themselves. I can get the layout right with the mode button off (red) but then when I have it set up that way I can't use the total control diving and filding control.s

If someone has a config file or if they wouldn't mind posting their setup if they have this controller or one similar that would be greatly appreciated.

You got to remember that this is an eight-year old game. This controller probably wasn't even made when Mvp 05 came out. Your best bet is to mess around with the controllers until you get it to work right. My config file for my Saitek P880 or my Logitech gamepad will not help you out at all here.

thanks for the quick reply, it seems like if i have the mode button off, It works okay but the total controls (fieldng / sliding) don't work but if i have it turned on the pitching doesn't work. I still can't figure out how to dive, jump in fielding. I've tried messing around with the different generic layouts. I've tried 12 4 1, 12 2 1, 12 5 1 and I can't figure it out. Been driving me crazy.

I'm not sure what your number mean. Are you attempting to change configuration within the game itself or are you going into the controller.cfg file found within your mydocuments/MVP area?

i've been messing with the controller configuration in the game options. Since my controller doesn't show up in the game menu I have to select one of the generic options. right now I'm using the one for 12, 4 and 1. Here is the way I have my setup now. I can't get the sliding controls or the fielding controls with the right analog stick to work properly. Here is my set up as it sits now. I'm open to suggestions.
