Another HR distance thread, where the long ones land

510 Ft with Willie McCovey in to the Cove. He pretty much hit the living stuff out of it. 96 MPH Fastball low and inside from Randy Johnson during Game 1 of the World Series.

P.S. I use Classic Rosters

The best shot I can remember was using Kevin Mench, playing at U.S. Cellular field. I don't remember the distance, but I was able to hit it off the top of the metal structure (with advertisements) in left field.

I've never hit one over 480 or so, but I crushed one with The Bambino (using classic rosters of course) that landed in the upper deck at Yankee. I'm sure it would've been 502 feet if there wasn't an upper deck at Yankee.

I thought there was another thread for this but I couldn't find it:

498 feet, but it looked further

Looking at those pics, the Cards are really finding ways to beat themselves these days, aren't they?

(Nice thread resurrection, by the way)

I call B.S. on hitting it over Yankee Stadium's upper deck.

I think it sucks the game doesn't have a HR distance estimator. The only long HRs are in certain stadiums where the ball can travel all the way back down to ground level. Some of my biggest HRs were interrupted by the stands.

Best HR parks: Fenway (LF), SBC (RF), Wrigley, GreatAmerican (RF), PNC (RF), Minute Maid (LF)

Worst: Metrodome (RF), Dolphins Stadium (LF), Shea (LF & RF), Petco (CF), Chase Field (CF), SBC (CF), Minute Maid (Left-center)

I can't tell you how many times I've obliterated a pitch to RF in Minnesota or to CF in Arizona, only to have it barely be 400 ft. Oh well.
