Pirate
I think I am only capable of fixing up my old parks anymore. I think my attempt at Oakland was just too much too soon. I like the graphics better than the Oedit side so fixing up the prettyness of your stadiums would be a pleasure. I have always wanted to add the beer keg to County Stadium
Sean O
I think I am only capable of fixing up my old parks anymore. I think my attempt at Oakland was just too much too soon. I like the graphics better than the Oedit side so fixing up the prettyness of your stadiums would be a pleasure. I have always wanted to add the beer keg to County Stadium This would be a match made in heaven. I have the will to make about 4-5 graphical objects every year, and so the Kingdome scoreboard (1), Arlington scoreboard (2) and Exhibition Stadium walls (3) are nearly my limit. But oedit, I can slog through forever when it's a fun project. I'm a big picture guy, so minor tasks like (obviously) moving the walls back at Kauffman turned into a big deal. And, ironically, completely ripping out 80% of Qualcomm ended up being easier in comparison. Funny how that works. You know you are free to tinker and release any and all of my old parks as you see fit. I know they'll be in wonderful hands.
AstroEric
I tell you what, guys. I'll strike it rich, buy a baseball team, fund a new and awesome stadium with plenty of nooks and crannies, and even make it symmetrical. All so you guys can mod it into MVP05. That's how much I appreciate your work. Now, step one. Get rich.

Davidc
You rule man, they look great. I suppose I should make a night version of Exhibition now, huh? Well, that could be REAL fun, 'cos beyond the football part of the field was the midway for the Canadian National Exhibition. How are you at drawing rollercoasters? http://pages.interlog.com/~urbanism/flyer.html

HardcoreLegend
Now wait a minute! I made Sean a beautiful scoreboard for Candlestick Park and he still hasn't added it to the ballpark. NO FAIR!!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
AstroEric
Hmm. Helping out with graphics for stadiums might be a mod that I could be good at for once. Do you guys need any help in this area?

tebjr
Sean and Pirate. Now that's a team. Can't wait to see what you guys come up with for these classic stadiums.
tebjr
I'm assuming that you're going to be needing these..... Exhibition Stadium: Arlington Stadium: Jim, Could I get these as well? Thanks.
Sean O
Along that line, How hard would it be to stick one of your fantasy stadiums in the game? (Like my personal favorite, the one with the towers beyond the outfield wall) Nearly impossible. As cool as it would be, it would be a giant pain in the *** to make happen. But, you never know. As for posting the parks tonight, it's been delayed (I know, I know) due to Pirate's involvement. The parks are 100% done as per my specifications, but Pirate's are far, far higher, and I'd like to have a polished product instead of yet another rushed work. Look for them soon, along with 30's Fenway.

Wouldn't it be the same as making a classic stadium or a new stadium?
Sean O
The main difference is that any of my fantasy parks that I'd like to make, such as my last one (the San Nicola Di Bari-ish one), would be ridiculously hard to put into the game. Each of the parks i've worked on, except LA Coliseum (which almost killed me), has been made because of a striking similarity to another park already in the game. Editing the stadium infrastructure itself is tricky, but editing crowds becomes nearly impossible. And when you have an all-stadium, no-crowd project like the Coliseum, it just doesn't look right. If I'm making my fantasy park, I'm not going to skimp on the details like I can do with some of the other stadiums.
Pirate
I got into some graphics last night. I am trying to get the scoreboard right at the Kingdome and add some advertisements to the walls. Sean as for Candlestick take a look at the Astrodome. Remove the roof and really look at it. I can see Candlestick in there.

Sean as for Candlestick take a look at the Astrodome. Remove the roof and really look at it. I can see Candlestick in there. It's funny you should say that about the Astrodome, since I was 50/50 about using Astrodome as the base for Arlington instead of qualcomm, so I'd already considered what ripping off the roof would entail. There are a few problems with Candlestick. One, no other park really looks like it in the game. Instead of the Octorad parks like Qualcomm and the Vet, or the circular ones like fulton, riverfront, three rivers, busch, RFK and shea, Candlestick was really extended to fit the football field. Beyond the fence at Candlestick will be a large dead space which will be particularly difficult to create in any other park. I think the Vet is still the best base we have for Candlestick because each has just two decks with ample overhang. Really, any of the mid-70's era large parks could be a good basis, it just boils down to comfort level at that point.
Davidc
David you don't have any photos of Exhibition do you? They would help so much. Period photos are extremely hard to come by on the 'net. I've zipped up what I could. PM me with an email address and I'll send what I could find. The problem is that they've ripped down so much on the Exhibition grounds (the Flyer wooden rollercoaster, the Shell/Bulova Tower, etc.) that I can't just nip 'round and take a few snaps. The other issue is that the open end of Exhibition faced downtown, so the CN Tower and all the office buildings should actually be part of the CF-RF background. All is not lost, however. My mother-in-law worked for the Blue Jays the whole time they were at Exhibition, and when she moved into her condo a couple of years back, she donated a whole boatload of programs and other stuff to my baseball library. I'm hoping that there may be one or two useable pics in that stack. We'll see.
