He only did two Bonds because after The Living Daylights was completed he originally was supposed to be another one but some kind of legal dispute prevented any Bond movies from being made for about four years. After it got settled he didn't want to do any more of them. I think each played it differently and played it well. I do know the broccoli family wanted pierce before they even hired dalton but he was tied up with remington steele.
