With the newly released mod, I wanted to create a thread so that people could provide feedback, share screenshots, and most importantly to report issues. If anything arises, I can get a patch out there as needed. Hope everyone enjoys playing!

As a side note, I do plan to release a few more "quality of life" mods that aren't required to play the game - the updated ages for those that want to use the ScheduleUpdater, a couple of alternate jukebox playlists, and a save file that will allow for accurate DL stints and removing the team picture for those that didn't make the big leagues in order to replace them with editable names and generic Create-A-Player portraits.

I've seen the screenshots and all the work you've done.
I guess the only way you could make this any better is if you could throw Chad Curtis' ass in jail in the game too.

Congrats on everything you've done, it looks absolutely incredible.

I could not agree more.

Well, I had to break in the mod by hitting Ortiz. In this game he is referred to as David Arias because that is the name he used to sneak into the country. No matter, he got hit in the ribs anyway.

When I went to get the instant replay of the hit on Ortiz I was able to choose the camera but was unable to move it around like you are able to do.

The pitching meter seems to be in the wrong position. It’s fine with no one on base but with someone on like you see here it is.

I haven't downloaded it yet (I'll do it tonight) but I can tell you that we greatly appreciate all the effort and dedication you put into this wonderful mod, on behalf of the entire community I can only say, thank you Ballfour.

Loving the Mod, once again great job. I am seeing writing over the display when I play Cashman field.  It says textures. Can this be corrected? Thanks.

I see what you mean.

Okay, so answer time!

  • David Arias confirmed. I'll send out a specific fix.
  • Regarding the pitch meter, I used the pitch meter fix mod. If you use Cam 6 for pitching (behind the mound instead of behind the plate), the issue resolves itself. Otherwise you'll need to revert to a previous camera setup.
  • I was unable to replicate the errors with the replay camera angles and the missing textures. Pictures here as proof.

Yeah, I'm not seeing any errors on my end for Cashman Field. As for the pitch meter set up, go to Game Options -> Visual Options and for camera angle, select Pitch 6/Bat 1 or something to that effect, so that when you're pitching, it's always the reverse angle. The pitch meter should look better that way.

Ok, I found out some more things about the camera issues. Look here.

With the free camera you can move it around and you can see the controls to do it. However..

Any other camera you pick you lose that very important option.

Also, Doubleday Field has the same texture problem.

I wish I had an answer for you regarding the camera functions. I'm not sure why that happens, since I didn't really mess with the replay cameras. Could you try the cameras out in a default install of MVP 05 to see if it provides the same issues with all the other cameras besides the free camera? I based this mod off MVP 1994, so if that was a known issue there, it would continue here.

Regarding Doubleday Field however, I'm not seeing the texture problem there either. I uploaded these all to a zip file and they were then downloaded to the FTP site. If this keeps happening, I'll release each stadium separately. What the texture error means is that the cram32.fsh file is missing certain things that are needed to show in the stadium. But like I said, I'm not seeing that either.

This is what I did. I went through the special (non-MLB used ballparks in 1998) to see which ones had textures missing. There were some that kicked me out of the game like Champion Stadium and Legends Field but I was able to get in when I got right back in the '98 mod.

Tokyo Dome - Fine
Mile High Stadium - Fine
Estadio Latino Americano - Fine
Jarry Park - Missing textures
Doubleday Field = Missing textures

Aloha Stadium - Fine
Safeco Field (Unfinished) - Missing textures
Estadio Hiram Bithorn - Fine
RFK Stadium - Fine
The Louisiana Superdome - Fine
Cashman Field - Missing textures
Estadio Bisbol Monterrey - Fine
Seibu Dome - Missing textures
LA Memorial Coliseum - Fine
Baltimore Memorial Stadium - Fine
Frontier Field - Fine
Cooper Stadium - Fine
Dunn Tire Park - Fine
Binghamton Municipal Stadium - Fine
Dodd Stadium - Fine
Hadlock Field - Fine
Champion Stadium - Fine
Fort Lauderdale Stadium - Fine
Legends Field - Fine

So after I did all this I went into the 1994 mod and sure enough the camera problem is there also. But the pitching meter looks a little better with people on base.

I just tried all of the stadiums that were listed as having missing textures and they looked fine to me on my Windows XP laptop.

This laptop, which is what I develop my mods on, has onboard graphics if that matters.   Most of my video settings in the game are set to high. The display mode is 1024x768x32.

I haven’t tried installing the mod on my Windows XP desktop PC that has a graphics card to see if the stadiums look different.

I did see the reported camera problem when I selected something other than Free Camera.

As for the pitch meter, I always use the Behind the Pitcher view so I didn’t notice any issues.
