  1. Do we really need a Dan Vogelbach face? CJ Cron? Vogelbach has a career .210 BA and he's slow as all get out!
  2. Thanks man.... as always your keeping up with rosters moves has been a big help! More than 1/2 way through this. I realized that I don't think I updated any control numbers for more veteran pitchers. That might be the next (last?) phase then.
Consider this review the same for all of your other uniform releases in that your contribution not only with these but the other mods have been greatly appreciated! All of these small to large touches matter to make the game look better while you play.
    Wonderful stuff! Thanks very much!
  3. Version 3 will incorporate updated main fielding abilities for fielders utilizing DRS (throw accuracy), RZR (range) and UZR (fielding). Also will update catchers' throwing accuracy and strength. I'm about 1/2 way through with the fielders. Also Jay Jackson replaces Jeffires for MIL in the bullpen. Robinson Cano replaces Rajai Davis for the NYM (no idea why I included Davis in the first place). Ryan McMahon replaces Noel Cuevas for COL
  4. Try to restart a whole new one as a test with all of those off to see what happens. I'm sorry, it's out of my control. Technically if all the teams are filled and the FA pool is not too full, it shouldn't freeze, but yet it does and I've done nothing different since I started with these 9 years ago.
  5. Do you have injuries, suspensions and/or trades on? If so, as indicated there's no guarantee that you won't get a freeze. I can no longer figure out why.
  6. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com This site really has bumped things up. Could help roster makers for really any of the baseball games. With Pitch f/x site not functioning to show new pitchers pitch types and trajectories, this might be the next best thing or even better. For example, when you choose from the selection grid in the upper right corner you get these options: The Pitcher Visualization page is flat out sick with data. It even has video-ettes when you scroll down of the given pitcher's major pitch types. But I think the 3D Pitcher Visualization screen could help roster makers/editors with creating new pitchers or tweaking existing ones. Initially it looks like it's only catcher view: But, when you rest your cursor on the strike zone box, you can actually rotate the screen to show what the Pitch F/x site showed (or you can choose View in the upper right corner and choose a preset view)! Lots of other cool categories on the site.... check it out!
  7. I think you mean this. Only the first several entries are relevant:
  8. Some updates to be incorporated: Carson Kelly, ARI, C vs. R: Contact: 45 / Power: 55 vs. L: Contact: 77 / Power: 88 hot/cold zones are the same. Christian Walker, ARI, 1B vs. R: Contact: 65 / Power: 75 vs. L: Contact: 60 / Power: 75 hot/cold zones are the same. I'm just gonna look at very low rated players that I haven't look at already and put out another update.
  9. Version 5.0.0

NOTE: THIS IS AN MLB ONLY ROSTER! THIS WILL BE MY LAST ROSTER SET -- THERE STILL MIGHT BE ADDITIONAL TWEAKS TO FIX THINGS IF NEEDED * Top of each league's position players contact/power updated * Several more players created * Rosters primarily incorporating players giving the most service to their respective organization, or if a prominent player, had the greatest overall service during the year if on multiple teams * Latest portrait numbers for official faces to show properly * Contact/Power and Hot/Cold zones updated primarily for younger players **NOTE: I'll be making a thread in the near future to provide direction to the resources I've used and created to make these rosters over the years. *NOTE: I cannot guarantee that rosters won't freeze with injuries, suspensions and/or trades on. I have tried everything I know to combat this and the rosters seem no longer able to handle 25 players/team at the MiLB level. I have no idea why. Tested successfully via simming an entire season with trades, injuries and suspensions off (by the way, the Dodgers won). There are a minimum of 23 players on each minor league team, so playing with trades, injuries and/or suspensions "ON" or for MLB only "ON" might work. If you find any mistakes (batting stances, pitching styles, jersey numbers, etc.), please PM me and I'll include the fixes, if warranted, in the next update, or if there are enough I'll upload another version. If you think a player should be created and placed on the MLB team, PM me and I'll consider it. Since "Placeholder" players (last name) were put in to fill the empty slots, these rosters can be used with injuries and suspensions set to "ON" without crashing. Most every team has 24 players. I don't know why at this point, but filling teams to 25 seems to be causing freezes when simming a season/franchise. If you want to use these rosters to create another version or a roster incorporating MiLB, just ask (as someone already has in reference to a standard only roster). If you are thinking of making a MiLB roster set, you can alter the existing "Placeholder" players. INSTALLATION: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA SPORTS\MVP 2005 (or whatever you named it)\data\database subfolder. DELETE the existing 19 .dat files. Unzip this roster file to that location. DO NOT SIMPLY OVERWRITE! **If you're going to give feedback, please make it intelligent. If you don't know what you're doing or you're one of the only few who is having trouble, then don't leave me negative feedback. Ask questions in the forums after searching for a thread!! Please do not PM me for individual help as there are many threads already out there! Thanks.
  10. Well, you can edit in game, but I wouldn't recommend it. I'm having enough trouble with MVPedit as it is this year. Rosters should be out today. Ran into speed bumps yesterday.
  11. Actually I'm glad you said something about Altherr. Guillorme doesn't have enough PA's. I don't know how I missed Nimmo being there instead, but he will replace Altherr. Bashlor only has 18 innings pitched to date this season. Even though Gsellman is currently on the IL, he has the tenure this season. Just about every team is gonna have someone people might think should be at the MLB level, but I try to look at amount of service given to the team and other than Houston, keep the pitchers to a total of 12. Of course anyone is welcome to change the rosters around after they load them. There is no way to directly manipulate the rosters save file created by the MVP game. If you mean ROS as in the 2K game, then you're in the wrong thread. I appreciate the compliment. If I see the official faces have updated any AND those faces have been released by the time I'm ready to publish this, then I'll make sure they are in there.
  12. Finishing touches happening on this. Updating hot/cold zones for those who have none. Updating contact/power for various younger guys who warrant it. Several additional players have already been done. This should be out today.
  13. NL WEST That's all divisions. If there are any discrepancies, let me know soon. I'll be working on extreme ends of division leaders and losers and tweaking power/contact and pitch control.
  14. Again looking for any tweaks, changes or if you think a player should be on a given roster if he's not. Remember, this is largely about amount of service he has during the season overall or to the particular club he is on (injuries be damned). So keep that in mind if giving feedback. AL WEST
  15. Thanks for the corrections. Exactly what I'm looking for. NL CENTRAL
  16. Gonna post per division when done. Will try to do 13 position players/12 pitchers per team if possible. I can tell there will be a few more created players. If you guys have any alterations that should happen, this would be the time to say. I doubt lineups will be perfect. AL EAST
  17. Starting in on the EOS rosters since roster expansion is only a few days away. This way I'll have time to make final tweaks to not only newer players but veterans as well. If there are any suggestions or requests, please make them in this thread.
  18. Thanks for the compliments. There are some pitchers who tend to make their debuts this time of year, especially with a struggling team, such a Puk, which I did not include. They will be in the end of year roster if they have enough tenure, however.
  19. You should probably talk to Jed.
  20. You're probably going to run into finite limitations (e.g., no. of players to create), but that ultimate no. I'm not sure anyone knows. a) Yes, you can. I have done this on rare occasion, but again, how many tweaks you can do I doubt anyone knows. Always make an extra back up. b) Pretty sure that's a "no". Remember that MVPedit wasn't around when the game came out and it was designed to work with the original cyberfaces.
