Here is my 1983 Orioles Uniform Set. The screen shot of the home uniform is actually my 1978 home set which everything is the same except for the bird emblem on the cap...it'll be like the 1983 road one. Both uniforms were original done by Rawlings with both jersey fonts being standard block. I also used the original buttons from the Singleton jersey on my repros...with the button holes all vertical except for the top one. I tried my best to get the "jersey material" the same gray color as the originals shown so they would look the same as the original in-game photos in MVP05 itself. To install, just copy the 2 zip files to your main MVP folder and use the Total Installer Thingy tool to install them into the game...remember to back up your current ones before stalling in case you don't like these. Next on my agenda, are...redoing my 1972 road uniform set and tackling a request for the 1989 Orioles uniform set. HOPEFULLY after that, I can get away from the Orioles and do another 1970-71 team uniform. After I do a few different teams, I want to add a 1984 left sleeve to my 1983 Orioles uniform set. If you have any questions please ask and thanks! Eskie01

Here is my 1976 Orioles Uniform Set. As I mentioned under the 1975 version, I reversed the cap emblems from the 75 set. To install just unzip the zip file on your desktop and copy which ever individual or all of the home, road and/or alternate into your MVP home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install them individually into the game. Please let me know if you have any problems so I can help ya with it. Enjoy! Eskie01

  4. KC, It worked ever since Don Cropper taught how to do uniform mods and do custom rosters with the editor. All of a sudden about 2 weeks now ago, the portraits and faces disappeared from being displayed in the editor. I know that my machine needs to have the processor fan & heat sink replaced so I don't know if there was any damage to the processor before I knew that the fan went. Also, even though I don't want it to, the windows update starts putting updates on it automatically before I see what it's doing. I have Windows 7 64 bit, ASUS 7770 HD video card. I haven't changed my hard ware any. The odd thing is if I open up my backed up copy in the external hard drive, it works ok. I just tried something. I reinstalled my editor and then copied my backed up editor files of the 71, 74, etc., seasons into the folder in Program Files (x86). I opened up the editor in that folder and the 1971 editor file therein and then in options changed the MVP Baseball folder to the 1971 backed up on the external hard drive, it then showed the portraits correctly like it always had. Then when I change it back to the one on the c drive (MVP Baseball 2005), it messes up again. I even copied the same MVP baseball 1971 that worked on the external to my c drive in Ea sports, it messed up again. Now you know my I want to run my stupid head through a brick wall...LOL!!! Thanks for any help! Eskie01
  5. It's the pest again...LOL! I had to reinstall my original game and I DO HAVE the original discs that came with it when my wife bought it for me at Circuit City either in 2005 or 2006. I DON'T know what's goin' on with my pc and this game. I didn't do anything new to it either. Now the stupid portraits and cyberfaces don't show in their boxes. I did change the option thing to point to the right game too. I'm about ready to bang my head on a brick wall along with the pc...LOL. Do you know if there's any additional stupid Microsoft updates that I need to be aware of like that other listing that caused the game not to run at all??? I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, but I NEVER had any problems before last week. Would anybody know if it's a hardware problem...it's a 2012 pc. Thanks, Eskie01
  6. Hi,

Ballfour told me to come to you.  I'm still trying to create new team name audios.  I got the dat opened up to the 6 different asf files.  How can I make them the exact size as the previous ones and what apps do I need?

    Thanks,

    SX file Error

Hi, Here's a new one for ya...I already did a search on the site to no avail. This morning I thought that I'd go ahead and redo my player audio dat files for my 1971 since I worked around the "Palmer name thing". I NEVER had a problem before now all of a sudden I'm getting the attached SX file error when I'm creating the dat files. I even went in and got the 3 files from Homers tutorial that I needed (mosx, sx, & mosxdat) and pasted over the others to NO avail. I've used Homers tutorial for years to create these. I never had any trouble with creating player & stadium names dats before. I attached the screen shot of the error for ya. BTW, the work around that I did with the wrong jersey name was, to start at 1001 instead of 0001 for the beginning of my rosters. I usually start with the AL since I liked the Orioles & A's back then and then do by winning percentages from there on...for example in 1971: Orioles, A's, Tigers, Royals, Red Sox, Yankees, White Sox, etc. Thanks, Eskie01 PS: I already just did a batch of the Orioles right before this happened...that's why I'm totally confused of why this came up. Both Jim825 & Ballfour were stumped so I'm tossing "my ugly hat" into the ring here for any potential "owners"...LOL. Does anybody think that it could be a hardware issue? PS2: I thought that I'd try to copy all my 1971 sound files, etc., over to my old Windows XP 64bit pc. I then tried to do like I did in the few years past and yesterday morning...follow Homers audio tutorial to the letter. Guess what...it worked perfect. There must be a problem with my Windows 7 with either the hardware and/or software. Would anybody have any ideas??? Thanks in advance! Eskie01 03/04/20 12:49pm est.

Here are some 1974 player portraits. Some could be better so if I can either improve upon the current one or find a better photo of the same player, I'll add it to Part 2 of the 1974 Portraits when I get those organized. The way that I install them is to go into the MVP editor and make sure that the season file in the editor is pointing to the data folder in the 1974 game folder or wherever any individual wants to use them in the options of the Tools heading in the editor itself. Go to the appropriate player's line and click on the square box under that player and click on add picture and find where you put Dick Green for example and select his portrait. Then click open at the bottom of the screen and then you'll see the editor again with the new photo in the left square and then click ok. The new portrait should appear now in its player's square. If there's a portrait already there, use the delete function to the right of where you see add a new picture. If you have any questions, send me a note and I'll help you with this. Enjoy the portraits...I'll be adding part 2 of these in the near future. Eskie01 PS: These samples that you see are just a tip of the iceberg...there's many more in the actual zip file.

Here's my 1977-78 Baltimore Orioles uniform pack. It's the exact same as the 1975-79 (1973-74 didn't have the orange uniform and they didn't have the white front panel cap) uniforms themselves except for the bird emblem on the cap. To install, just unzip the uniform pack on your desktop and then copy any of the home, road, or orange alternate uniform zip files to the main MVP Baseball folder that you want and then use Total Install Thingy to install each zip file individually (home, road, or alternate) into your MVP Baseball Season. If you have any questions just send me a note and I'll try to answer your questions. Enjoy! Eskie01
  11. Does anybody know why a different jersey name is appearing than who is on the roster??? In my 1971 season Jim Palmer is my #0017 and on the back of his jersey is "Alomar". There is no duplicates of #0017, I checked. I also checked the dat file in the database folder called Attrib and there no numbers in any of the original Alomars. What could be causing this?? Thanks, Eskie01
  12. Hey Ball Four, I'd kinda appreciate an answer on this, please...in your time. Thanks, Eskie01
  13. Hey BallFour, Could you share how that could be done the easiest and best way possible??? How in the world can you get it right down to the exact "jot & tittle" of what's it supposed to be? I use the AVS Audio Editor to do my player audios & stadium announcements. I'd REALLY appreciate some help with this because I've spent a number of years trying to grope & claw to find a way to change the Athletics to A's and then if I could do that, then I can change some of the Minor league teams to some of the oldies like the Charleston Charlies (1971 Pirates AAA), Iowa Oaks (1971 Oakland A's AAA), etc. Thanks a million!!! Eskie01
  14. I'm trying to use the Asf Importer/Exporter to try to create "the Oakland A's" team name. I got the "02.dat" file opened and I have already converted the asf's involved to wav files as below. I was able to convert a wav file back to an asf but when I try to import the asf file back into the dat,, I got an error message that the asf wasn't the same size as the original one. Could someone please share some more detailed instructions for the app or tell me what I'm doing wrong???? I'm getting there with the team name project but this is NOW standing in my way. Thanks, Eskie01 PS: In addition, I thought that I would try that team audio tutorial. I went through every phase and then when I was starting to import the mus file back in, it gave me an error message about my new mus files was "such & such" larger than the original so I clicked the button to use mine and I then tried it. When Kuiper came to the home team there was not even a "peep" of the "Oakland A's". The tutorial gave NO instructions on changing the hex file or anything...what am I missing??? 02.dat1.wav 02.dat2.wav 02.dat3.wav 02.dat4.wav 02.dat5.wav 02.dat6.wav
  15. Hey Dennis,

I wrote the following message to "BallFour" since I didn't see you on the site for awhile, "Hi,  Would you be able to replace the artificial turf in Dennis James' 1970's Three Rivers Stadium to dirt???  I just watched Game 4 of the 71 WS the other day on You Tube and 3 Rivers had a dirt infield and artificial turf in the outfield, unless the turf was artificial in the infield but between bases was dirt instead of like Riverfront where the bases just had dirt but the rest was turf."

Would you be able to make those changes to your Three Rivers Stadium?  Here are some pics of what I sent him.  Would you have time to do a KC Municipal or a Senators' RFK, or adjust your current Veterans, etc., to be authentic for 1970-71?

    Thanks Man!

  16. I wrote a question for you the other day about a "Run-time Error 48, Error in loading DLL).  Well, I renamed my old 1971 Season game folder and started right from scratch with a "new" 1971 season MVP 2005 game.  I'm doing the same as I mentioned when I was doing the 1976 one, and so far so good, I'm NOT having any problems with importing team members from Lahman's DB 5.3.

I don't know if the problem stemmed from this or not, but I've noticed that my Norton Security program goes into different folders like for example mods or utilities I get here and pulls out files and puts them thankfully into the quaranteen section.  Do you know how I can try to prevent this from happening?  I've restored the files but I don't want it to happen at all.

    Thanks,

    Eskie01

Here are my 1971-72 St. Louis Cardinals uniforms. Once again I got the cap, helmet, & jersey emblems and logos from auction sites. In original photographs, it was very hard to tell them apart...they were so close in color. It was kinda tough to get a road template that wasn't too dark but didn't look identical in the game. To install, copy a zip file into the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. They are in the "a & b Cardinals uniform slots". Enjoy and if you have any questions, let me know! Eskie01

Here are my 1973-74 Orioles Uniforms. The majority of the uniform is the same as the 1975-81's except it has the 1971 cap & helmet. The home was made by Rawlings and the road by Wilson. BTW, I AM doing other uniform sets other than Orioles & A's, I thought I had the 71-72 Cardinals done but while getting some other in-game pics together I noticed that the helmet color was a little too light so I'll have to fix it. I'm almost done with the 1970-71 Reds too. I plan on redoing the Senators and Red Sox after those fixes. To install, just copy a zip file into the home folder of MVP Baseball 2005, and then use Total Installer Thingy to install it into the game. They are placed in the "a & b slots". If you have any questions let me know! Eskie01

Here is my 1979-81 Baltimore Orioles Uniform Set. For 1982-88 they had a different maker for the road uniform which included a different number font and a little different gray hue to the actual uniform cloth. From 1977-78 had a different cartoon bird. The home uniform was of course done by Rawlings with the regular block numbers and both the road and alternate jersey was done by Wilson with the Wilson Varsity number font. I just put in the 75's in-game pics because everything was the same except the cartoon bird. To install, just copy a zip file into the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. They go into the "a, b, & c" Orioles uniform slots. If you have any questions, just let me know! Eskie01

Here's the 1970 Oakland A's uniforms. They're basically the same as the 1971 except for the cap & helmet...that's why I only have one uniform in an in-game photo...I wanted to key on the hats. I tried to go into auctions and the like to find the hat emblems...again, as I mentioned in the 71 A's description, as soon as I find an original helmet emblem that will work correctly I'll upload an update. To install, just copy a zip file to the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install it into the game. I place these and the 71 A's into the "i, j, & m slots". Here is my 1971 Orioles Postseason road uniform. This original uniform was done by Spalding with a regular block style number font. They only wore this one only for 4 games in the 1971 postseason before changing again in 1972. To install, just copy the zip file to the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. If anybody has any questions, feel free to ask away! Eskie01

Here is my 1971-74 Orioles home uniform. As I've been, I get my emblems and original buttons from auction sites...if not then Google images. This uniform originally was produced by Rawlings with a block style number font. I believe this uniform is THE LONGEST used of any of the Orioles uniforms...from 1971-88. Of course the caps and especially the cartoon bird changed constantly. To install, just copy the zip file to the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install it into the game. I use the Orioles uniform "a slot" for all the different years from 1970-83...1970 is of course the flannel home version. If you have any questions...feel free to ask me anything! Eskie01

Here is my 1971-72 Yankees Flannel Uniforms. The original home jersey was made by Wilson during 1971-72 which had thinner block numbers than the 1970 Spalding ones. The road jersey was made by Spalding which used block numbers as Bobby Murcer's show. It also had a more slight bluish-gray hue than the 1970 uniform (Wilson) as per Steve Kline's photo (shorter hair) which also used what I call the Yankees Varsity Variant font as pictured above. The 1970 Yankees also had about the same brownish-gray color hue as the 1960's Tigers. The 1971 Thurman Munson jersey (above) had transparent plastic buttons and tried (?) to portray that in mine. I'm just NOT really educated in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop to do the best with that but I tried to get the same look. To install, just copy a zip file into the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to put it into the game. If you have any questions, let me know! The zip files will be placed into "a & b" uniform slots. Enjoy! Eskie01

Here is my 1970-71 Baltimore Orioles Flannel Uniforms. I got my uniform emblems and logos from auction sites from original garments. Besides 1970, the Orioles alternated the home flannel uniform with their newly received polyester one until the All-Star break, which from then on they wore their polyester home. The road flannel lasted a little longer...they wore it until the 1971 postseason when they got a new polyester one. It lasted for 4 games...1 in Oakland in the ALCS and the 3 games in Pittsburgh in the 1971 Fall Classic. They then got ANOTHER one before the 1972 season! I was talking to a guy and he said that their uniform designer must've been as fickle as some women...LOL. The home one was made by Wilson and the road by Spalding, hence the different number font. The front emblem of the home was slightly different from its polyester which was manufactured by Rawlings. To install just copy a zip file to the MVP Baseball 2005 home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to install into the game. By the way, in a 1970 league they'd be in the "a & b" Orioles uniform placements. In my 1971, they'd be "c & g". Enjoy and if you have any questions please let me know! Eskie01

Here is the 1971 Detroit Tigers Uniforms. Again, I got the emblems and original buttons from original uniforms even down to the batting helmet. I even try to get the shade of the uniform templates to match the original photos, of course making sure that there's no red or blue tinge to the photo itself because that would of course throw off the hue of the uniform. I'll get a pack of the 1968-69 Tigers up but the road uniform had a little more brown tinge in the flannel. In 1970, the Tigers got names on their jerseys so with that being said, maybe the flannel had a different gray tinge than the one before. To install, just copy the zip file into the MVP home folder and use Total Installer Thingy to put it into the game. If you have any questions, just let me know! Eskie01
